  • He's the one Valve appointed to help develop TF2's cancerous economy 😂. The currency of the game (refined metal) is in perpetual devaluation in relation to the dollar.

  • Easy scheme,

    Put tariff , stocks go down, buy stocks;

    Remove tariff, stocks go up, sell stocks;

  • Apparently there's a lot of racism involved. Many are anti-immigration, so they vote for them. But if I'm right in my analysis, Chega and IL will eventually replace all parties and become the analogous version of the Republicans and Democrats. I wonder if there is US involvement at play.

  • Oh yeah, the media has always given the far-right party (Chega) a disproportional amount of screen time. Meanwhile the communists get suppressed. The problem is that the far-right managed to steal a lot of votes in former communist bastions. Regions in the interior that were far-left (for decades), have now shifted to the far-right. So PCP went from ~7% to barely above 3%. They also stole a lot of votes from the center, so forming a stable government is quite hard. But this is probably good because the right wing has more votes now.

What shocks me is how the media has managed to turn so many people into neoliberals. I hear so many people parroting neoliberal talking points like, how they are tired of paying high taxes (hilarious, because our taxes are average by EU standards), they claim public companies are a burden and should be privatized. Even public healthcare is seen as a burden, many think just relying on private insurances would be better, since they're paying "twice".

People here just don't learn anything from mistakes from the past. Examples:

    • Privatization of our public gas/petrol company -> Results in one of the highest gas/petrol prices in EU.
    • Privatization of our public electricity company (to China lol) -> Results in one of the highest electricity prices in the EU. (While exporting electricity to other countries!!!)
    • Privatization of our public mail company -> Results in shitty degraded service.

But now the privatization of healthcare and the public airline company will suddenly fix everything? My god, how can people be so blind? It feels hopeless to argue against this.

  • without them, much of the Pentagon’s advanced hardware risks slipping from superiority to obsolescence.

I think you mean, "parity at best".

  • Oh thank you Mr President, I'm so tired of winning. Seriously I want to lose some now, please stop the carnage.

  • They'll forget all of this once Trump removes his tariffs.

  • no money socialist utopia... you mean communism?

  • I know what will help, 5% of the GDP towards military spending!

  • Another thing about western communist parties, is that they are rich. They have a lot of money which they just waste on electoral campaigns. So imo, they should send some of that money to third world communist parties, that have an actual chance of doing revolution. Basically, fill the void left by the Soviet Union in exporting revolution.

I don't believe it's possible to build revolution, in any European country right now. Even in Greece, during the brutal austerity years, the best the Greek people were able to do was to vote for Syriza. So it's hopeless in countries like Germany and France.

  • They should've because Khrushchev wouldn't be able to do his secret speech and de-Stalinization. I think it's bad policy to let leaders stay in office until their deaths.

  • But that's also because of the shrinking of proletarian in the First World. Most productive jobs have been outsourced to the Third World. Many workers in the Global North want to become bourgeoise, they have no material interest in revolution.

  • Mostly because of Neoliberalism, which started with Reaganomics. It's the same here in Europe. The state can't do anything directly. The only intervention states have is, either via public companies that have yet to be privatized, or taxes (which are slowly being removed).

For example, if you need a road fixed then the regional government has to create a public competition, for a bunch of private companies to enter against each other. The one that presents the lower cost wins, and then proceeds to fix said road. This needless bureaucracy slows down things a lot. Also, since reparations are being made by private companies, they have an incentive to do a shitty job, so that roads break down sooner (planned obsolescence).

So you see, every job that the state should do directly is being outsourced to 3rd party private interests. This creates a group of companies that need to leech of the state to survive, the more they leech the better their profits. They also have no real incentive to properly fix things. So this is why everything in the West is slowly becoming worse over time.

  • Maybe he's referencing his memecoin?

  • I just don't understand the obsession with discussing other people's private lives. It's private for a reason. That episode would be enough for me to break contact with that person permanently.

  • From my experience prejudiced people judge men, who are single for "too long", negatively because they must be secretly hiding their homosexuality. So to them, its all one and the same.

  • What's the political situation like in Iran? Are there any real leftist parties? What do you think could be done to improve Iran's current situation?

  • Former US soldier who now does independent journalism. He does a very good analysis of current conflicts and the global geopolitical situation. But I don't think he's a leftist.

  • Some create strategies on how to build and maintain the American empire. Even publish whole books on it. Brian Berletic frequently cites think tanks in his videos.

UPS also has a market cap of 156B$ vs Fedex's 66B$. Both average around 90B$ in revenue. Fedex drivers maker an average of 52k$ a year. Fedex doesn't have any unions.

In summary, it seems that having a union helps workers earn a lot more, but also help the company have significantly better stock market performance.

Collapse of the US (circa 2050)

Decided to have some fun and balkanize the US. If the filthy liberals can have fun balkanizing China and Russia, then so can I with the US.

    I'll follow the Legend order:

    • Florida: Is an independent country. It's pretty much a fiscal paradise and tourist resort. Suffers with drug cartels which emerged after the fall of the US. The worst are the ones run by Cuban gusanos, which were forced to resort to crime when their US state funded subsidies went dry.
    • Bible Belt: As backwards and reactionary as you can imagine. Slavery is legalized against all non-whites. Christianity is the only legal religion.
    • Free Men States: These are regions that managed to break free from the Bible Belt. They frequently make armed incursions against the Bible Belt to free slaves and disrupt governamental operations.
    • Native American Communes: Similar to the Free Men States, but their larger Native American population banded together with common ideals and culture. They are in a state of u

I think China is gonna open the economy.

I'm sure some of you have seen these types of posts. We can't expect much from the idiots that write these articles. But there have been multiple posts on Twitter, of supposedly massive Chinese internment camps.

If we know something about the Chinese government is that they plan ahead. They know that if they open the economy, they'll have a colossal number of infections. These buildings are very likely hospitals or quarantine zones where the infected will be sent to receive appropriate medical care.

Of course Westoids can't imagine what it's like to live in a country where the government actually thinks of the future and cares about the lives of it's own people. So their conclusions are as shortsighted as their governments.

I think the Chinese government is going to do a full reopening of the country and try to be as ready as possible, since their economy can't continue to operate like this.

Limit the number of posts from a community on a user's homepage

So the new stream of users from GenZedong is great, but it's flooding the homepage to the point where all you see are posts from that community. So my suggestion is to limit the posts that a community can feature on a user's homepage, regardless of how popular they are. Just pick the top 3 or top 5 most popular posts from that day and show them.
