WASHINGTON (Reuters) -Tesla said on Friday it is recalling about 239,000 vehicles in the United States because rear-view cameras may fail to work. The development comes days after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened a probe into 2.6 million Tesla vehicles in the U.S. over repo...
me to, got pretty excited there, 3 in such a short time would have been crazy. Not that 2 isn't crazy either.
Oil and Gas forever, but also won't build local infrastructure to fully use it, and instead have to ship it elsewhere to refine it etc.
A lot of what people have heard about being one of the least reliable cars is from the mandatory inspections in Germany.
If there's any rust on your brakes, the car fails the inspection. Teslas have some pretty aggressive and good regen/one pedal driving so people don't use the brakes often. You're supposed to use the brakes with some heavy braking to help clear it over time. People don't do this, they take the car in, and it fails since it has some rust on it. Just using the brakes would clear it though.
The earlier Model 3 also had a problem with the front suspension which could cause a fail, there's a service bulletin on that one.
The Model S also had some air suspension issues, but from my understanding, who doesn't have air suspension issues (but I might be wrong)
Take those things, add on all the other small quantity issues, and it was ranked one of if not the worst vehicle the 1st year they were coming up to the age inspections were required.
If it was him, I wouldn't put it past him to reuse emails for sockpuppets or other identities.
Maybe a Twitter leak one day will connect the dots if it really is him.
I don't know if any of them have actually gone through the whole process yet, but multiple states are trying to ban mrna vaccines

Ukraine keeps hitting munition stockpiles and have noticed substantial drops in shellings. They've also been taking out jets and drone factories, so it's all less overall.
But while those things can still inflict a lot of damage and do, you still need that armor to move the front lines up.
Nearly all the damage ukraine does is with drones, but those drones still need people to support and hold positions and a critical part of doing that is armor.
No armor means harder to do assaults and harder to defend positions.
There's absolutely nothing actually proving it's him. It's as provably him, as I am Ryan Reynolds. Making Deadpool 3 was pretty amazing though!
If you genocide enough people I'm sure you're views will be more centered amongst the remaining people.
Just gotta keep genociding until you get there.
If a battery is sitting on a lot for an extended time, it's possible it's completely discharged if they didn't take care to keep it partially charged.
Letting these types of batteries sit fully discharged for a period of time can damage them.
Unless it's LFP, and these aren't, don't let it sit at either extreme, and even LFP it might only be 100 that's okay and not 0
If only we had some technology that could replicate the mRna or DNA as things changed to get an updated vaccine out quicker.
Too bad that didn't work out, killed billions of people, and is now being banned for how awful it was.
I've seen this for data sharing between different cell plans before (2 numbers 1 data plan) and I've seen it as a $10 add on to an existing line, but you always had to be paying for 2 things (extra line or small monthy fee)
We already gave you Ted Cruz.
Are those sizes including non houses as houses? How do you make a 484sqft HOUSE???
Amendments aren't part of the constitution... except the 2nd!
If it's a L2 system the driver is always liable. The report just makes sure we know it's happening and can force changes if patterns are found. The NHSTA made Tesla improve their driver monitoring based off the data since that was the main problem. The majority of accidents (almost all) were drunk or distracted drivers.
If it's a L4 system Tesla is always liable, we'll see that in June in Austin in theory for the first time on public roads.
The report never changes liability, it just let's us know what the state of the vehicle was for the incident. Tesla can't say the system was off because it was off 1 second before because we'll know it was on prior to that. But that doesn't change liability.
It either is, or isn’t and it’s going to be easy to prove either way.
Of course, my pleasure
Tesla employees were simply processing backlogged paperwork before the program expired, Zeineddin wrote in the letter.
Maybe the definition i gave not having the past tense backlogged confused you...
Dude, you need to get a life lol. I'm just using your number.
Its a claimed backlog. Since English must not be your first language if you didn't understand the article let me help you out.

Tesla only did 9000 pieces of paper work across 3 locations in 3 days.
Anyone business could do that, it's not hard.
Edit: It's not even in dispute that they did 9000 pieces of paperwork in 3 days. Math checks out!
CyberTruck Gets 5 Star Safety rating from NHSTA
I hope everyone can now stop with all the it has no crumple zone so it's a death trap comments.
I guess that means doubling down on the pedestrian death machine now.

Edit: Also the report is dated January 14th. This is before Trump.
So, the recall is more than the rear camera, there was a software/hardware combo problem that could cause the HW4 computer to short, which took out major functionality on the car without the computer.
The backup camera is part of what is lost, and is a mandatory safety feature, so the recall is technically because of that, even though it's much more than that.
What I find interesting is that this appears to be the 2nd recall where software has physically broken hardware which is a more uncommon type of recall. Lots of hardware problems that can be fixed with software, but not a lot of software problems breaking hardware.
The other one was on earlier Model 3's they were logging too much data, and they actually went through the lifespan of the memory in the vehicle. Once the memory was dead the vehicle had problems. The fix was to log less. They eventually had to address that, but it took a long time to properly acknowledge.

Compares Turning Radius to Turning Circle and "Stands By The Numbers I Found"

A Cybertruck ‘blew up’ outside Trump’s hotel in Las Vegas

Having a discussion about turning radius of the EV trucks, and a person takes a radius for 2 vehicles, and then compares it to the turning circle of the 3rd.
I try to politely point out that the numbers he's comparing aren't the same, and then he replies that he "stands by the numbers I found"
Volkswagen to halt US ID.4 production following 100K vehicle recall

Volkswagen plans to temporarily halt ID.4 production at its Chattanooga, TN, plant following a nationwide recall involving nearly 100,000 models....

The company’s letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated the door handles could allow water to enter the circuit board assembly, which may lead to the doors opening unexpectedly.
According to Volkswagen, the production halt could last until the beginning of next year as it works to resolve the issue.

2024 Tesla Model 3 AWD Qualifies for $7500 USD EV Credit again.

Its eligibility for the EV tax credit drops pricing to under $40K.

It doesn't say what was changed but that makes it a great price again.
It also really messes up the pricing between the 3 RWD which doesn't qualify and the AWD that does since it's only a 1k difference now. I wonder if we'll see them lower the RWD or potentially raise the AWD price?
Thoughts on range extenders for commuter cars?
So both Rivian and Tesla have or say they are going to have range extenders for their trucks, but in both cases even if they are removable and rentable they are huge as trucks are huge. In teslas case it seems to be a permanent change though.
What about commuter cars though?
One thing we really need is cheaper in city commuters and those don't need a long range. That brings costs down and gets more people into EVs, but those will get relegated to 2nd cars in many cases.
If those commuter cars could go to a shop and get an extender added in the trunk though that would make them much more capable of longer trips as well while keeping costs down.
If the battery rental is similar or less to renting a car for the same period then people would opt to use their own car for the longer trip and all the personal comforts that provides.
The batteries would be much smaller as well for a smaller vehicle.
