Triplets born, the throne awaits... yes i deleted c/lies, it probably won't come back. Sorry

Is Lime3DS any good?
Hello, i was wondering if Lime3DS is any good as an alternative to citra
i'm not sure if emulation talk would be fitting here so my apologies if it isn't but i just thought it would be fitting considering it does have some relation to piracy due to how ROMs are obtained, but anyway.. i did hear Lime3DS isn't an actively developed fork of Citra as of now since there's a new 3ds emulator being developed as a replacement for that but i was wondering if Lime3DS would still be good to use in the meantime while waiting for the new 3ds emulator to be finished
hope this isn't a dumb question, i was just curious will be looking forward to hear back!
(Addtional question: i was gonna use it on my linux machine since it has a linux release but could it perhaps work on the steam deck too?)

It's been my source of FLACs for a while too, i've been building up a flac collection from them too and it's been going smoothly so far! Big thanks to them.

I might consider soulseek at some point, thanks for the suggestion!

Thoughts on pmedia?
Was looking at music torrents and noticed alot of them was uploaded by pmedia, sometimes i get music from them but was wondering y'alls thoughts on them, their stuff does sound high quality but i couldn't really tell
hope this isn't a dumb question, was just asking out of curiosity, thanks.
(Also wow.. it has been forever since i used lemmy, i think i'll use it again since i do miss using it)

Ah yeah i saw, hopefully it gets fixed!!

Oh alrighty, thanks for the answers!!

Ahh that explains it.. hopefully it'll get fixed soon!

Ohh alrighty, thanks for the answers!!

Ah, that's good!! i might try it out at some point.

A few questions about stuff i found in the megathreads out of curiosity.
Hello, i was going through the megathread and also stuff like FMHY, i was wondering..
- Is Online-fix any good and would it work on linux with wine? (I use linux mint as my main operating system, piracy is actually possible there and hell even fitgirl's stuff works nicely there)
- Would trainers that's in the c/piracy megathread (such as fling trainers, mrantifun or wemod) work on pirated games? (I plan on messing around with those in singleplayer, i have no intention to cheat in online games lol)
- Has anyone experienced TorrentGalaxy being slow? It wasn't like that before but now some of the images such as movie art covers in the frontpage doesn't even load anymore and i was wondering if anyone experienced the same and wondered if anyone knows what is going on
I'll be waiting for replies, thanks!

14 years ago... damn now i wonder what the community was like in it's peak prime, whenever i visit empty servers or whatever and hell whenever i read old messages sent by players (whether it's on forums or something), it always feels like i'm looking at an ancient relic and that's actually something i always loved, especially when looking at old posts from a community that was once big.

I didn't expect so many people in the comments expressing their nostalgia cause of my post, i think i opened up a whole box of people's memories that are now unlocked because of my post LMAO
But yeah damn playing the game even back then sounds fun as hell lol, i always loved old as hell games since they always have this charm to it that i can't explain.. though ig it's cause i have an interest in old stuff in general. I'll probably install it and see if there's anything left (i would imagine it'll be either bots to keep the game to not feel lonely or it'll be a small community keeping the game alive)

Hell yeah!! old games should always be kept alive even if it's being kept alive by a small community, they are always fun just like how some newer, modern games are

I would imagine there's a small community still keeping it alive, it's just like what happened to day of defeat or team fortress classic.. there's a small percentage of people still playing it, at least it seems like it (i think counter strike source or 1.6 had the same thing happen too despite the fact counter strike 2/CSGO exists)

Holy goodness! i didn't expect my post would open up a whole group of people feeling nostalgic LMAO, i'm glad i unlocked people memories
hope i made some of y'all at least happy that my post made y'all remember the game, if any of you sees my replies then feel free to tell me your story about your experience of the game, i would like to hear about it!! (direct messages are fine too)

I was listening to a vaporwave internet radio station (which is this, it also streams genres that is similar, such as future funk if i am correct) and this was one of the songs that was played, thought it would be nice to share this here lol

Asking AssaultCube players here (if there are any at all), is the game still alive despite how old it is?
So i was looking around some stuff and discovered AssaultCube, i do remember hearing it's open source so i thought that topic might fit here (feel free to correct me if i am wrong)
I have been wanting to try that for sometime now but was worried if the game was dead or not (i won't mind if the playerbase is small or big, all i care about is if there's servers still running and if there's still people in it) and this might be a dumb question to ask since idk if there's any AssaultCube players or if there is even anyone here that knows it's existence but is the game alive at all? if not, are there alternatives that are more active? (AssaultCube-like or not, just any open source shooter game will do fine and i've already tried xonotic, good game and will play that again sometime lol)

oh wow i didn't know there was a post like that on lemmy, thanks for sending it!! and yeah i replied to ryven's comment, looks really interesting and i will be sure to check it out!!

hm, i'll be sure to check that out since i'm curious

Any other free and open source racing games out there? (Other than supertuxkart of course, though that is a fun game at least to me)
Title says it all, while supertuxkart can actually be pretty fun.. i was curious to see if there were other ones aswell considering from what i remember, there was alot of games that are open source (also try xonotic, that game was fun as hell)
hope this post fits this community since i thought video games are just another type of software in some way (but if it isn't, feel free to correct me if i am wrong as it would be greatly appreciated for the future)
But yeah feel free to drop any suggestions related to racing games, thanks!!

Are there any WYSIWYG html editors? just curious
Hello, i was looking for a wysiwyg html editors i could use for my personal website, perferrably just as a simple open source desktop program on linux (though anything else is fine). i DID find something called KompoZer but i was wondering if there's any other ones, thanks

I've been playing xonotic and DAMN is it fun
I'm sure you all heard about it, i tried this open source (i think it's open source) shooter game called xonotic and it is FUN as hell, it's probably one of the best foss games i've ever played and i wanted to show this game off here
what are ya'lls thoughts of this game

are shotcut and kdenlive any good video editors? just curious
i thought this question could fit here as this is a community about open source software after all, anyways.. i was gonna do editing for the first time and wanted to use something that's free and open source, i was considering either shotcut or kdenlive but i wanted to at least hear the community's opinion about it, i'll be waiting for the replies. thanks

i discovered this recently

i found this open source game i found, seems like it's based on quake 3 arena. i tried it and it's actually pretty solid, i thought i could show it off here lmao

asking something about mlmym
heya, i joined the blahaj.zone lemmy instance some days ago (i forgot what day that was) as i was moving away from kbin and i've been wondering if it would be possible if the instance would have the mlmym ui as a seperate page, sorta like what lemmy.world did, same with lemmybb, i was wondering if the instance has either of those UIs, i'm asking just out of curiosity, i don't hate the normal lemmy ui or anything lol
