Harris was imperialist and colonialist, but not fascist. It's ludicrous to equivocate trump and Harris as both being fascist.
And in any case, yeah, vote for progressives in primaries. I know that there wasn't a real primary for 24, but that has more to do with Biden not stepping aside soon enough than anything else. Dem voters are getting tired of establishment enablers, and DNC leadership is no longer interfering to pick favorites (see Mamdani's victory) so we could actually see progressives taking over the party.
You're painting a false equivalency (both sides the same) and pining for other options without actually offering a solution for how to get there, implying that we just stay home and not vote at all. You're the problem. If you don't like the fascism, vote against the fascist. If you don't like the non fascist option, tough shit because there may not be a next time if the fascist wins (and he did and here we are talking about suspending elections). If you actually want better Democrats in the general for the 26 elections, you need to start paying attention now because it's primary season already, and you can and should be donating/volunteering for who you believe in.
If you're being serious about wanting an option outside of the two parties, only one of them is open to things like ranked choice to get rid of first past the post and eliminating the electoral college so that it's people and not land doing the voting. Spoiler alert: convincing people to withhold their vote helps the other guys win, and they're thrilled to keep it a two party system. You may not like somebody milquetoast like Biden, but he course corrected and arrested the slip into fascism while getting some progressive stuff through. Not enough, but it's fucking silly to say that Harris was the same as Biden and also Harris is the same as trump.
Yeah, so would it really be so surprising if big business sent lobbyists to push the government to get drugs into the country so more people could be arrested and forced to do slave labor for said big business? The lobbying would only need to me cheaper than paying the laborers. Slashing labor costs would yield record profits, and this is not news to the psychopaths who run massive companies.
That we know of. Would you honestly be surprised at this point if our tax dollars were going to the cartels, moving drugs in here just so there could be drug arrests? For some reason we decided that felons can't have guns or vote even after they've done their time, and we've decided that enslavement of convicts is perfectly legal.
Nobody who has any respect for trump has any respect left for women. They wouldn't give a flying fuck about standing up for the women's team. And part of me hopes that they show up just to prove me wrong and publicly call him a misogynistic piece of shit when he does shit talk the women's team.
Wow! You mean that thing that a shitload of people were screaming warnings about has finally been heard? And only 18 months too late to do anything about it! At this rate, they might figure out that trump is a pedophile before he dies. I sure do have a lot of hope that future elections are gonna go well and totally not be ratfucked out in the open with no pushback of any actual consequence. I'm glad that there will be a stern letter threatening to file a lawsuit (that will never happen) due to armed CBP and ICE at the polls terrorizing BIPOC. Inspiring stuff, papa Schumer!
Just curious why you are so against a hatchback. After living with my Rav4 for ten years, I love the cargo capability. I also want a smaller, AWD EV that's reasonably priced, but I would actually prefer another hatchback. I'd budge on that preference if it were significantly cheaper to, but it wouldn't be, so I'm happy to take the extra cubic feet.
As in he avoided both or that in both cases he had a doctor sign off on a bullshit lie? I'm just wondering if this obvious dementia is hereditary or syphilitic.
As an American, yeah you're right. I could see some argument to forgive and move on from his single term. We could say we learned our lesson and got him out as soon as we could and never looked back. But we elected him again. We can't say that this isn't who we are. Not all of us, but enough of us. And even after he's dead and gone, there's still the very real (and maybe expected) possibility that we'll put another dumbass fascist in charge again and he'll wreck international diplomacy and trade again/still/further.
That's what we already see. Is there something even worse that this is meant to be a distraction from? Eating children? Raping puppies? Some other horrible third thing?
Just when you think he's reached the bottom and nobody could possibly be any worse, he sinks lower. Every time. There is actually nothing redeemable about him.
This is human nature. The "antiwork" crowd isn't actually against work, but against the exploitative system of how work is executed under capitalism. We all like solving problems and knowing what tomorrow holds for us. If you woke up tomorrow and had absurd "fuck you" money, you'd retire from your job, but you'd still work on things.
Over the years, I've learned the sense of accomplishment and pride that comes from fixing a thing, replacing a broken/old/inferior thing, installing a thing, etc. I was never particularly handy. I don't much enjoy the process itself, but the visible and quantifiable and tangible product of my labor and time are so much more fulfilling to me than the fraction of a fraction of an impact to a billionaire's bottom line, given in exchange for being allowed to have shelter and food.
And really, some jobs are fairly enjoyable too. My wife truly enjoys her job most days, and a lot of that enjoyment comes from her job being less serious. She clocks in, performs tasks in a way that meets expectations while joking with co-workers for a few hours, and clocks out. It's not all soul crushing, but it's easier to stomach when it's <30 hours per week.
I think they have their own dating platform. It should offer a premium tier that allows users to have M4M availability. The company makes more money, gay conservatives are only visible to other gay conservatives, and grindr has fewer of them. Win-win-win. I'd say F4F also, but let's be real, they're not interested in helping women, even if they could make money doing it.
I hate how right you are about this. They wouldn't give a shit if the Epstein files revealed that he was eating human babies drenched in cold ketchup, but he threw around the idea of taking gun rights away from a suspected wife beater until adjudication? For the safety of the wife? Preposterous. Vote Jeb instead!
Dems need to stop trying to court the right, but if they refuse to stop that, this is what they need to try. "Republicans want to take your guns, conduct more world policing to send your sons overseas to die in the quest to steal more oil without even lowering your price at the pump, and take away your healthcare and use those tax funds on immigrants. This isn't the America First you were promised."And yeah I know that they're fine with how their tax funds are being used on immigrants, but if you're vague and don't explain exactly how those funds are being used on immigrants, they'll assume that it's being used to help them instead of kidnap them.
Shhh, don't remind him. He got his shiny little gold trinket and moved on to the next distraction from the trump Epstein files.
