It has the market absolutely cornered in background napping material tho. God I can nap so hard to golf.
It's so odd to me. Him as a person is easily the biggest reason I dislike him (and it's a long list). But I've spoken to multiple people about that very thing and have gotten some truly odd responses. I've been told that they wouldn't want their children to grow up and be like him. That they wouldn't want to work for him as a boss. That they wouldn't trust the things that he says. And that they wouldn't want their family or friends to behave the same way as far as the trash talking and being... very liberal with the truth.
But somehow, he's still the best president we've ever had and an amazing, strong, intelligent person. They trust his decisions and think he's the perfect man for the job of fostering foreign relations. I simply cannot make heads or tails of this. It's like people somehow have lower standards for the president of the United States as a friend, family member, or coworker.
Don't forgot he's been just incredibly big headed, disrespectful, and an insufferable jag off to pretty much every single person that doesn't worship the ground he walks on. How someone can be that mean and rude to just about everyone, then call foul when people don't like him and STILL have people confused why so many people act negatively towards him is so damn annoying.
I mean yes but also...
China "will take countermeasures in a resolute and reciprocal manner" if any country sought such deals...
It's one thing to just say you don't like something. It's another to say you're going to take a specific action as a direct result of them.
Random question, but when you have an image like this with a ton of that fuzzy noise stuff and then you try to put an image into it without any fuzzy noise crap, what's the best way to do it? Basically, how do you match noise when compositing images?
I've found some ways to do it online that are decent but it almost always comes out different. Like you can usually totally tell the image doesn't belong there.
And on top of all that, even if somehow you could justify foregoing due process, the dude STILL can't legally be sent to El Salvador because of his withholding of removal to that country which I'm pretty sure is what the"administrative error" was that the white house admitted lol.
From your experience, why do you think that is? Mostly social media? If so, what about it? Bad parenting? The whole Covid remote stuff? Is it economically driven? Are the schools doing anything differently that could cause it?
I watched this Maher thing and I really don't get why anyone cares at all. He basically said trump wasn't a giant douche in person like he is on tv and online. And I totally believe that. Does that really surprise anyone? He's 100% the type of guy that would smile to your face and say your great and then talk mad shit behind your back. Call your mother a whore on truth social and then the second you see him he'd say he regretted it or it's fake news or he didn't actually mean it. I mean just look at zelensky, he talked MAAAAAD shit online for like weeks leading up to that and when they finally met he was asked "why did you call president zelensky a dictator?" And Trump's answer? "Did I say that? I can't believe I said that. Next question."
So yeah, I totally buy that he'd be mild mannered and even reasonable in private with some people. But once you turn your back or if he has a little army of ass kissers with him he will immediately change his tune. I feel like everyone has met a guy like that.
Trump's approval rating on the economy drops to lowest of his presidential career, CNBC Survey finds
I mean isn't this pretty much how people are now? Refusing to heed any warnings until it's too late. Complaining that everything sucks after ignoring said warnings, and then instantly forgetting anything ever happened the millisecond the trouble passes.
This will absolutely 10000% never happen as long as lobbying exists in my opinion.
I live in a pretty maga area and I can say that maybe the support has dwindled a tiny bit around me? I dunno it's hard to tell. I can tell you for damn sure tho that there are still plenty of people incredibly happy with everything that's going on. Especially with the deportations. It seems a little less with the tariffs but even then a ton of them are very happy that America is finally standing up for itself. I'm pretty convinced at this point that there is literally nothing Trump could do that they would see as a bad thing.
I work for a company that imports all sorts of components for pretty much all of our products and the flip flopping has basically completely grinded everything to a halt because no one can figure out what the hell is going on at any given time. It has been a complete shit show lol
I was just talking about this with a friend. I think bmw drivers driving like douches is maybe the most accurate stereotype I know. It is shocking how often I see a car driving like an asshole and it ends up being a bmw.
Most stereotypes are hilariously inaccurate but that one seems pretty legit lol
You're right to some extent but make no mistake about it, he would not be able to do just about any of this without the complicity of a whole bunch of people over there in DC (and other states to a lesser extent). This is a concerted team effort.
Quickly becoming his go to play. It's how he pushed through tariffs and how he was able to auto deport all those people. There's probably more that I'm unaware of but the amount of national emergencies the man has declared so far is kinda crazy
Sounds like these dummy CEOs don't realize that losing money costs you nothing maybe they need to go read Art of the Deal and find out how a real man runs (and subsequently destroys) businesses!
It's not a loophole. And it's not quite the tariff hack it's made out to be here. There's no tariffs sure. But tariffs will undoubtedly increase the price of the item when it is bought the first time which means it will then cost more in the secondary market. Still, buying things second hand is fantastic and is highly, highly underutilized in the current climate.
I mean he covers that in the article. He straight says the tariffs will bring in money and then the new manufacturing will bring in more on top of that:
Those tariffs next year will make us $1 trillion, in addition to the $1 trillion thousands of companies are going to relocate back into the United States,
I still genuinely am not sure if he legitimately understands tariffs. Like, surely he knows they are paid by the importer. He has to right? But time and time and time again he says that other countries will pay the money. I'm assuming he's just lying but I can't even tell anymore.
Regardless this $1 trillion he's claiming are absolutely just a tax on Americans.
To add into that, most homeless are just normal people that fell on hard times, you won't see them cause they don't want to be a bother. You see the crazies because... Well they're crazy. Gigantic assholes like musk assume that since you see crazy homeless people wandering outside, then obviously ALL homeless people are crazy violent lunatics. He is the smartest person in the world after all.

Why isn't Lemmy searchable on a search engine?
Why don't Lemmy posts (from any instance) show up on search engines? Like if I try my hardest to get a thread to show up, virtually nothing from the actual instances in the fediverse comes up. I'm sure if I searched the exact url or something I could get it but it's very noticable that the search engines by and large just kind of gloss over posts on here and I'm not sure why.
This stinks cause that was one of the biggest draws for reddit. So many times when you search some super obscure or specific question you'd get a few reddit threads with all sorts of information.
