Oh for sure. I usually wait 1-3 years before buying games so that I can grab em on sale. It's really quite rare that Nintendo games go on sale, though. So it's kinda tough when you want to eventually play them.
I'll sometimes buy games new, but as it is, most of my purchases are during sales. I've been mostly playing old titles. It just surprises me when I see statistics of Nintendo running out of pre-orders etc.
Hmm when I look it up with this bank of Canada website it claims a game from 2011 that cost 60CAD would be $83 today. I'm wondering if there's other tools I can use to cross reference? Just curious how you got to the $200 number. Maybe I'm wrong.

The thing that is incredibly frustrating for me is the rising cost of games. Nintendo of all companies is starting the big push for raised game prices. Frankly, I can't afford that. It was a stretch for games prior to this. But now I can't justify it.
Games are currently $80 CAD. In some rare cases $90CAD. If they were bumped up by inflation from 2019 to today. Games would roughly be $96.Still hurts, but alright, sure, I get it.
But Nintendo wants to jack up games to $115 CAD. That's a massive jump of $35 or 43% if my math is correct. And somehow, people seem to be able to afford this? It feels like I'm trapped in some kind of bubble where I'm just working poor while everyone else is making their money somehow go much further than I can.
I'm working full time, but I am supporting my family. I don't have kids. I make well above minimum wage. I just don't get how people are making this work unless they're all just taking on extreme levels of debt
I agree completely. Over the past 5 years, I've noticed so many people have been able to fail upward with their businesses all because they have income that allows them to do so. It's incredibly frustrating knowing that with the right backing, most people could likely be as successful or better.
This world is unjust. Damn.
I am allergic, funny enough. Poplars kick my butt. We do have lots of other trees, though! I love trees, my body just likes to self-destruct I guess.
We have some apple trees that are awesome, though.
I hope you're able to improve your situation soon. Sorry, I hope I didn't sound insensitive
I think my dogs already do a great job at that lol.
I often wonder if I lost all those around me if I would end up going down a similar route. I think there's more to life than slaving away for someone else's profits. We only have one life. We might as well enjoy it.
Spring just started here. We might get green grass in a week or two!
That's great for Britain. Hopefully, they'll remember the mistake for the future
I want to get rid of first past the post so badly. They were supposed to. But then didn't. It's a flawed system. I'm glad the cons didn't win. I didn't consider that Trump would go dictator mode so quickly and scare the shit out of everyone.
I'm scared they'll win in 4 years if the liberals don't help regular people more. If they just cater to companies and the wealthy then we're all SOL
I went and voted today. I hate first past the post but what can you do. I sure as hell don't want Trump 2.0 here
That sucks
Thanks for finding all that.
It's funny because the Republicans are getting away with so much damage and harm to people, but I'm still conflicted over someone harassing another person, even when it seems justified.
I didn't encounter Brendan till late game. If you're curious, you could just look up where he's located. I honestly thought you were referring to that quest, lol. It's very relevant to this post
Lol, no worries. I guess my question is kinda hard to answer.
Good thing I'm hungry, then I suppose :) Honestly, my plan is to one day try to inch my way to some kind of sustainable living situation where I can reduce my needed spending as much as possible and just live in a way that reduces all stress.
I'm not sure if it's practical yet or just a pipe dream, but it's keeping me moving forward, so good enough, I suppose lol
My concern at this point is that when people eventually reclaim power and overthrow the dictatorship, the other members that willfully participated in all of this will not be held accountable and will get away free, or even worse will be allowed back into a democratic government again.
I'm kinda skipping over the majority of the timeline here. But eventually, these people need to be held accountable for the countless crimes they have committed and the worse crimes that have yet to come. The majority of the republican party should see prison for life at this rate.
How can I play this? It sounds really interesting!
How does one find work-life balance when the 40-hour work week feels like too much? Anything less than "full time" either doesn't pay benefits or doesn't pay enough to live off of. It feels like a trap

It's time I finally get a new PC. Can someone guide me in the right direction?
(Is there a more appropriate community to post this in?) Thank you in advance for any advice/help!
I've come across this build on PC part picker, but I was hoping someone could help me customize it a bit better for my needs. I'm going to be streaming, gaming, and editing videos on this machine.

I would like to future-proof the PC as much as I reasonably can (10-15 years' usage would be great).
My budget is probably around 2-3k CAD? I am over extending myself slightly, but I have used my PC daily for 12 years, and I figure if not now, when?
The only other thing I might consider is new monitors, but otherwise, I'll be reusing all my peripherals as those are more recently upgraded!
I was also thinking a better Nvidia card might be worthwhile? The main thing is I'm not familiar with how the parts work in terms of compatibility. That and electrical usage/needs from the power supply
Edit: are prebuilts any

Forza Horizon 5 will be coming to PS5. Likely other xbox exclusives will too.
What are your thoughts on this? Are you happy? Sad?
I'm extremely curious. If you asked me this as a kid, I would have been celebrating. I always thought games should be accessible to everyone. But now I'm questioning if Microsoft plans to keep the Xbox ecosystem alive.
Exclusive titles are/were the incentive to keep people on certain consoles. Currently, I think only gamepass and digital libraries would be the only reason to stay with Microsoft if they continue to make systems in the future.
Additionally, I'm curious as to how this could destabilize the market. With no direct competition for high end hardware (other than pc/the steam deck), Sony can kinda do whatever they please.

What are the scariest games you've played?
I feel like I've played a good amount of horror titles, and I find I don't really get scared much anymore.
What are some titles that scared you the most? I would love to hear your recommendations!
