Remix of Boa's Duvet, but dark, synthy and muffled.

Every day the bait gets lower and lower effort
I think in the middle east group they can chown woman
, and that is probably coming to the America group in the next patch.
I usually set the thermostat to 28c or so, but I doubt it gets there, I get a sore throat at night if it's cold and I end up being miserable and spending way too long in bed the next day.
You are literally 12?
No, I'm not determined on anything you projecting fool, I am saying that based on your definitions of community and my lived experience, it is others who are determined to close their eyes and ears from me and from each other.
And no, I'm not gonna go up to literal strangers that have never spoken to me or each other ever nor shown any signs of wanting to do so and tell them about hosting some sort of unsanctioned "party" because some guy said this will be good, or something, on the internet - a place where no one lies.
This doesn't make me determined to "close my eyes and ears to those around" me, not acting based on the unprovable words of one guy, referencing something I only ever hear about on the internet about something that suspiciously doesn't seem to leave any traces of existing IRL makes me fucking sane.
So either we live in completely different realities, which yeah - I don't live in America, or you are lying, or I am lying, or we're not understanding each other.
Last time a different guy on the internet tried to explain this and they just kept claiming they built a local community with their neighbours, skipping over how they managed to even get along, he said he would show up to their neighbours to mow their lawn and that that is going to accomplish something or other, which is insane because if someone shows up to your door and asks to do your chores for free - most people would call the cops because that shit is creepy and unusual as hell and literally no one does that.
Hell - even knocking on neighbours doors within the same apartment block without a reason is at least disturbing the peace and nuisance as well, they'd be well within their rights to call the cops, no one wants marketing shit, especially if it's for some vague "community" shit. They're gonna think I'm trying to sell them a pyramid scheme.
You say "there's a bit focus here on" and I dont understand what you mean, do you mean like by the government? Or are you saying regular people are somehow contributing? If so, how? And how are they organized?
I have a high aversion to echo chambers because I too am a human same as everyone and find people just agreeing with me grossly unstimulating and seek out takes opposite to mine to understand them, deconstruct them and apply them to my own views either to refine/change them with a newly gained perspective or to argue against the opposing view.
I blocked all of those people because they are just unsalvageable people in my view. I was discussing the finer points of relative drug danger with some guy in a thread, talking about hypothetical lethal dosages for ht-2a classical psychedelics, and the guy was bringing up "Woodstock" and "brown acid" and how he "heard of a guy" etc etc.
There's no point discussing anything ever with a person like that, it's clear that we think along such different lines the differences are irreconcilable, like trying to convince someone not to be a bigot or disprove someone's belief in religion/conspiracy with evidence and reason, when they just believe in that stuff, they don't think about it and weren't reasoned into it.
That you live in the same area.
But that' happenstance. Literally thousands of randoms live in the same area. I've never seen the same person twice, and I'm sure they want to be left alone. Not really enough to start a conversation.
You have the same elected representatives
Pretty sure an average person has no idea who that is or what that means. Hell, I don't know who that is for my area from a few months ago.
you shop at the same stores
That's a bit of an assumption.
you live with the same stakes
I'm not even sure what you mean by that. We have almost nothing in common in our actual lives apart from living in the same city and area. Like, moving cities doesn't substantially change anything about your life, you still do the things you do, work the job you work, know the people you know, etc etc.
People don't just strike up conversations with other people because they live in the same apartment block.
That's why people say you need to get involved in your community.
I get that - what I don't understand is how. And to answer that first I need to find this "community".
You say it's not a website, but the only time I've ever seen anyone discuss something relevant to a local area was a Facebook community for that city, which was mostly boomers whining about gormless buskers in the suburbs or old people posting black and white photographs saying they are looking for someone they saw in a bar hundreds of miles away 40 years ago, like some kind of strange ARG.
Whether or not you acknowledge it, you're part of it
I can acknowledge it all I want, it doesn't matter if most other people aren't aware of this supposed community we share, or of other people in general.
I'm also a part of the cosmos but I don't think I've ever spoken to a Martian either.
Idk again on paper you say things that make sense and I could picture a fictional Lynchian village where neighbours talk to each other and greet each other and maybe even discuss their elected representatives or whatever if they're tight-knit, but this just doesn't match anything even close to my lived reality.
I do appreciate the explanation though, thanks.
Honestly I think it's perfectly fine and I don't think it makes you more/less neurotypical at all. I just think there's different folks and they like different strokes, y'know?
I'm not coming at it from "hating" small talk, everything is so insanely intense these days, whenever I talk about anything critically people assume I "hate" it, but I don't, I'm actually just curious about it. I think it would be cool if I could learn to appreciate small talk for instance, but for that I'd need to actually understand what it's about. But I suppose it's just not for me because I just don't really have those thoughts like "nice day today" and such.
Same!
Blocked for calling anarchists absurd.
That is a dumb take and you could look it up on Wikipedia if you cared and iota to read many influential anarchist authors e.g. Kropotkin or Grabber, but trying to prove wrong every wrong person on the internet I'd never have time for myself so I'm moving on.
I have blocked 264 users, 9 communities and 4 instances and it's made Lemmy much better for me toxicity wise. Whenever a debate gets toxic or someone starts just insulting or discussing in bad faith or I just get a bad vibe from them - I block.
Cron job that evals some base64 encoded string which is actually downloading a script from a personal GitHub repo of an IT guy who left...
God and I thought the plot of the Fallout TV show was absurd with the "Bud's Buds" shit but it's literally real
Lmao that's a good one.
Hahaha I always do this with chemical brothers because of "my chemical romance" which is a very different band, well spotted.
I was pretty confused for a moment reading this, thinking you were pumping music into your spinal cord or something then I realized it was speakers you're talking about haha
You don't need PR for that necessarily but yeah I see your point.
See that's counter-intuitive to me because doesn't it usually imply some level of knowledge of the people or at least something you have in common?
I don't know them, I've never seen any of them more than once, I've never spoken to or been spoken to by them anywhere I lived, because people IRL generally keep to themselves and just talking to random strangers is pretty weird all in all.
With your usage of the word "community" in "community centre" i just figured it's an extremely old timey generic way to generically refer to a settlement, including cities, towns, residential areas/neighbourhoods, districts, zones, boroughs, areas and other localities that's fallen out of use.
In that case I'm not sure how I'm meant to interpret @AnIndefiniteArticle's usage of the word, because I don't know how someone can destroy the social fabric of random collections of actual strangers on the street lol, there isn't any, they're just randoms on about their day.
Am I going crazy, or has people's spelling gotten awful lately?
This is quite recent but I've been browsing Lemmy a bunch lately and quite often I see extreme grammatical errors.
I'm not talking about like, incorrect stylistic choices between commas and dashes, or an improper use of ellipses or missing commas or incorrect use of apostrophes in its/it's or in multiple posessive articles or just plain typos or any nitpicky grammar nazi shit like that, but just basic spelling specifically.
It's one thing when you can't spell some pretty uncommon words and you're too lazy to look it up and/or use autocorrect, but it's a completely different league to misspell very basic words, very recently I saw someone spell "extreme" as "extream" which is just kind of baffling, I actually can't even imagine how one would make such a mistake?
And it's not been an isolated thing either, I've seen several instances like that lately.
Am I going crazy? Is it just me?
I hate the natural world, kinda
Don't get me wrong: I certainly don't wish for corporations to destroy the environment for their own benefit, but primarily because I believe that if the environment is to be exploited for industry the rewards of that should be shared equitably amongst the workers in a worker-owner cooperative structure, and the spoils of it should be shared equitably across mankind, and not only those alive today, but also those in the future, hence we need sustainability.
Insofar as actually wanting to preserve it for its own sake though - I think it's meaningless, in a vacuum I would in fact prefer less biodiversity, especially when it comes to insects, and I would really like it if we could exterminate all species of fungi, mosses, lichen as well.
Where others see untouched ecosystems I see unused land that could be a nice city.
I'm an anarchist but I am firmly anti-degrowth, I would genuinely side with neolibs against anprims because they made a far better world even for all it's flaws.
Duvet Remix/Cover I made
Remix of Boa's Duvet, but dark, synthy and muffled.
I'm an amateur musician and I made this quite a while ago, I hope you like it and I'd love any and all feedback you can give :)
It was Inspired by this other neat remix I found way back: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-Hsf9HGIRbM I seem to recall this one playing on Lainchan's 404 page or something way back? Maybe someone else remembers something like that?
You can also show them from terminal via curl, by piping it into feh with dash for stdin
Can I see all the communities I'm banned from on Lemmy somewhere?
These are starting to really stack up with the nutty mods in some of these places and I'd like to keep score and perhaps display them somewhere. I'm wondering if there's a list?
If not, short of crawling every community findable by an account and checking banned status by e.g. attempting to post, is there a way to collate such a list programmatically with e.g. an API or cURL or selenium automation, given the structure of the fediverse?
Why is RetroArch such absolute garbage?
RetroArch never works right. Even once you get past the cores and all the other stupid bs, once you get to setting up the controls it never works right, most buttons just do not work in game, if they even work in the menus.
So many years, so much effort, all wasted.
It's still so much easier to keep BlastEm, Snes9x, Duckstation and whatever else installed, so much faster to set up controls and most of the time you don't even need to as everything works out of the box.
And yet plebbit will say nuhhh use muh libretro cores!!!!1 so heckin' wholesome Keanu chungus 100!!! I love my wife's boyfriend!!!!111 Thanks Reddit!!!!!
what's with the anti-left sentiment on slrpnk?
Why is the solarpunk memes community on this instance filled with such massively anti-left folks?
Is there an example program that illustrates how a buffer overflow attack actually executes arbitrary code?
I've found lots of examples in C of programs illustrating buffer Overflows, including those of pointer rewrites which has been of great help in understanding how a buffer overflow works and memory safety etc. but I've yet to be able to find an example illustrating how such a buffer overflow can rewrite a pointer in such a way that it actually results in code execution?
Is this just not a thing, or is my google-fu rust y? Tried ChatGPT and my local Mistral and they both seem unable to spit out precisely what I'm asking, so maybe I'm wording this question wrong.
If anyone in here knows, could point me in the right direction? Thanks y'all btw love this community 🧡
Old XKCD, still relevant
Was trying to extract a totally legit copy of Skate 3 I downloaded today to play on my Steam Deck
Can't figure out how to get Plank working on Wayland
Hey y'all
So I've been a big anti-Wayland shill around here but decided to finally give it a shot, I installed Debian 12 with GNOME, and can't seem to get Plank working.
Without the Plank dock, GNOME is unusable, and KDE refuses to autostart Guake (does not save the setting in autostart), and when it works it seems broken (stuck to the left side of the screen).
These are fundamental apps to me for any decent Linux laptop use. What gives? Is there an alternative?
“In the short term, they will be left with no healthcare at all. However, they will find alternatives, as they always have.”
Does anyone know why SteamOS is based on arch rather than Debian?
Just got a steam deck and immediately checked out the desktop mode, and I was somewhat surprised to see KDE and pacman as opposed to GNOME and apt, I have nothing against the former though a strong preference for the latter, anyone know why Volvo went in this direction?

Need help! how do I install Linux?
So our cishet furry VRC post-ironic microlabel (decentralized) polycule decided we're switching to Scientific Linux ತ_ʖತ because one of us fancies nano polymers in their fursuit in her spare time and she is very funny ( ´◡‿ゝ◡) so I want to support the girl boss to live her truth♥╣[-_-]╠♥ problem is when I go to microsoft.com (。・//ε//・。) there are not many instructions ┻┻︵¯\(ツ)/¯︵┻┻, one asks me to download something called microsoft Edge, will this give me the abilit*t*y to edge mo*o*re ԅ( ͒ ͒ )ᕤ or what that's welcome but that's best left for playtime ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧ for business theres something called terminal ◼️(●’3)♡(ε

is this an AnPrim space?
Hey! After seeing the main Anarchist sub on another instance be a bit of a shit show this one seems awesome and I do love me some solarpunk so this instance seems pretty cool as well.
But I gotta ask, is this instance anprim/anti-civ? I see green in the sub banner. It's not really a worldview I vibe with since I'm very much pro-tech, pro-civ, pro-AI, pro-medicine and pro-LGBT & disability rights, so if the majority here are of that persuasion I should probably bail, don't want to argue or start fights.
