  • They are wonderful animals, but they are a lot stronger than they are smart or fast. They can take out a lot of people, but they can be overwhelmed by brute force. But maybe the gorilla and the beauty of nature suddenly convinces some of the human fighters to takes it's side, and fight off the rest of the people.

Me and the gorilla ready to fuck up 100 random twitter users. (I am wearing my Flash jammies)

  • The debate needs to be defined: if it's just finding a gorilla in the wild and attack, it only takes 6 horrible people to chase the ape until it collapses from exhustion. If it's a bare knuckle brawl, the gorilla gets tired after taking apart 10-15 people. If the gorilla has unlimited energy, maybe 50 people could land enough hits to take down one of gods beautiful creatures.

looking at other apes: A chimp with unlimited energy would low diff 100 unarmed people imo.

  • Hmm, I wonder how difficult it would be to rewrite this without the stolen code. Obviously, the RTOS stuff could stay the same, just with proper attribution. The Nintendo code would be the hard part, but it may be worth it.

  • "Dear Freddy Engels,

My most generous friend, I know I have already written you this month asking for assistance with rent and payment for necessities, however I have just been informed that Mario Kart World will be priced at $80. My pen has been fast at work since receiving this news, but in the meanwhile if we are to meet once again upon that most colorful of roads, I will need to be the benefactor of your generosity once more.

    Forever your comrade, Karl Marx

P.S. I have also received word that the camera for the Switch 2 has increased in price to $55. Please factor this in to the amount you send."

  • Praise be to the RNG, but we still have plenty of increasingly niche options of operating systems. The more people use Linux, the more my hipster ass is drawn to BSD

  • Diego Luna is a handsome fella

  • Are the grifters smelling blood in the water? Or is this the start of a heel-face turn? Find out next time on hexbear polygon Z

  • I moved from telegram to signal to hosting my own matrix instance and connecting through a VPN. My assumption is that any remote server is compromised

Who could she possibly want to hang around with?

  • This is actually an interesting part of the new testament. Judea was controlled by the Romans at the time of Jesus' life, and the people living there didn't really like that. There were attempts at rebellion all the time. At passover it was customary for one person to be pardoned for their crimes, chosen by the locals. Jesus was this guy who started claiming to be the King of the Jews, and at the same time tried to reform the church. This was, in all ways, blasphemy and illegal, so he was arrested when he entered Jerusalem. But there was someone else who could have been chosen for the pardon, A man named Barabbas. He was part of a group that attempted a violent rebellion against the Romans. He was a straight-up revolutionary to the people there. So when it came to a guy who fought for their independence or a guy who called himself king and kept promising eternal salvation if you were peaceful and nice to sinners, well, it's pretty obvious what choice the crowd would choose.

  • I'm not making fun of anybody.

If you want me to express myself then I will: I don't like you, and if I knew you irl, I would think less of you after this conversation.

  • Oh really? Do the whites you hang out with use the term refer to any car mod you don't like? Have you asked them where the term comes from?

  • I'm curious if we have a detailed historic analysis of the origin of the term.

If you want to do the research be my guest, but I'm telling you right now, I've only ever heard the term used to mock an Asian person's car mods.

If an x86-64 enthusiast made fun of an ARM chip by saying it was "manufactured on a crumpet substrate" would that be an insult against the British

    made fun

There's you answer. It is disrespect based on ethnicity.

I never really saw the term widely used to describe a desktop configuration before here

Then you should be fine with not using the term, right? Why are you working so hard to defend a word you claim you don't see much? You have put all this effort into justifying using a word you have been told several times is racist that apparently other people don't use according to you.

  • Ricing is a racist term. I am telling you right now that it is a racist term referring to a type of car modding that Asians are stereotyped as doing. It is explicitly used to deride and exclude Asians from the car enthusiast community. Anyone who's into cars or around people who are has heard this term, but you can Google it if you want.

What does it say about you that you'll deny basic, well known facts to defend using such an exclusionary term in a tiny community with a large amount of Asians in it?

  • Can you be sure of that? And if it did matter to the public image of the Linux community, would agree to stop using that term, or is using a word that to this day has racist connotations more important to you than ensuring that all members of the Linux community feel welcome?

  • It's a term used to racially exclude people by calling Asian car enthusiasts tacky posers. Is that really the energy we want to bring (or rather keep) to the Linux community?
