From what I have been reading they are planning to charge all users who are streaming remotely.... Even if the host is paying.

"If you want to watch you library away from home you’ll have to pay. It also affects anyone you share your home library with. They will have to pay if they are not Plex Pass subscribers themselves. Plex will offer a Remote Watch Pass tier for $2/month or $20/year."

Now, I am not saying this is by any means a big amount of money or making a judgment call about the reasonableness of them charging for what services.... But it definitely seems like they want to ensure they are getting cash from everyone who ever touches Plex. Again, $2 a month is very little, but that's on top of the charges for the host

  • Ha! As a life long Albertan. We have had this cancer for a very very long time. Up until the NDP won an election a few cycles back the way it tended to work was the only way to unseat a conservative government was with an even more conservative government.

  • You are not wrong. But trans folks can be a lot more sensitive around language use sometimes. Misgendering ranges anywhere from annoying to hurtful to being an actual verbal attack. So their skin is often less thick for gendered language.

  • Specifically from Tim Hortons, which despite not having been Canadian in ages still gets treated like a Canadian icon.

But as a result yeah, often referred to that way in common culture.

  • It's two cartons of eggs, each container is a dozen and a half. Eggs are normally in units of a dozen so keeping that as a consistent unit across multiple brands and styles makes sense. Costco normally indicates how many things are packaged together more than the overall total. It's useful to know the format.

If it was on tray of 36 eggs the would have used 3 dozen and the indicator to keep it consistent with the standard unit of eggs.

  • They hand waved away the holodeck power thing in Voyager by days something along the lines of it is a different type of power that wasn't worth trying to convert to normal power for some reason. Basically just another Voyager excuse to ignore the premises of the show unless they happen to be bored that day.
