  • You guys preach lesser evil rethoric when it comes to russia, but not when it comes to voting.

  • fucks sake, thats what I started saying whenever I actually am asking a question.

  • Indexed by google (not bing or ddg's array of crawlers yet) now.

  • Digg doesn't plan to federate, from what I can tell.

Digg is owned by Kevin Rose (person who made old digg) and Alexis Ohanian, the reddit co-founder.

  • I feel like the whole supporting trolls thing is overblown.
They said that you should still use someone's pronouns, even if they are trolling, because it sets the precedent that its okay to ignore someone's pronoun preference.

Unless there is more that I missed.

  • Me if I don't think properly.

  • You are right about the names, that was my point.

  • Still looks kinda soulless.

  • Was this made by ai? It looks soulless, and the coffee cup is talking.

  • There is a few words I cannot spell, and I've just given up on them at this point (definitely, infinitely, critisism ).

Sometimes I type too fast and post a comment with a typo, and a few times the edit fixing it didn't federate.

  • aliexpress has most of the same stuff from amazon, just without the sellers nonsensical name slapped on it.

For more important stuff, most brick and mortar shops have an online storefront nowadays.

  • I was once wondering where 80gb of my storage went when I was reinstalling a game, and I eventually found out it was because I forgot to delete the .rar archive after I extracted it.

Small stuff (arguably) like that always fills my disks until it becomes a problem.

  • You are right, but what he is calling misandry is not misandry, and so many people like him think misandry is the bigger problem now.

  • They (I think) meant that the instance would be a community, and the admins would ban misogynists.

  • Would you mind giving me some examples of the misandry? To see what you are talking about.

  • You are right, but a lot of people want to avoid politics.

    Hey.

You're getting this email because you were first in line.

Before the homepage. Before the platform. Before most people knew something was even happening.

So... welcome. You're officially invited to become a part of Groundbreakers, a small group of early supporters helping shape what Digg becomes next.

If you're just tuning in, here's the short version: Digg is coming back. Not as a throwback. Not as a museum. But as a reboot of the original social news site—rebuilt for how the internet actually works now.

And we want to build it the right way: with real people involved from the start.

We're gathering on Circle, a private online space where we'll share early ideas, rough screenshots, updates from the team, and weird internet energy in all forms.

YSK: If the frontpage constantly looks like the same 5 - 8 posts, try sorting by "Hot".

Lemmy's default sort is "Active", which means that the most active threads will stay at the top of the frontpage, which can make the same few threads stay for ages. It does give the impression that lemmy is more active though.

Is there any tool you can use to send custom Activities?

For example, If I wanted to see how lemmy handles an announcement of an announcement, is there a tool I could use to write a custom activity and send it to the target server?

What features are missing from piefed, or, why aren't we reccommending piefed instead of lemmy?

Every time I go to the piefed frontpage I'm blown away by how much more polished it is. It has all the bells and whistles that lemmy is sometimes missing.

Whats the catch? Why aren't we recommending everyone goes to piefed instead of lemmy?

App support is one thing I can think of.

Reddit’s 50% plunge fails to entice dip buyers as growth slows

    cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/27610195

    Summary

Reddit shares have dropped 50% from their February peak, when the stock had soared over 500% from its $34 IPO price last March.

Much of the early enthusiasm came from AI-related deals allowing Reddit’s content to be used for training models, but recent doubts about long-term growth in the AI sector have dimmed that optimism.

Analysts remain skeptical and some call the stock “super overvalued,” noting Reddit still is not making any money.

Market uncertainty and early investor sell-offs continue to weigh on Reddit and the broader tech sector.

    irelephant [he/him]🍭 @lemm.ee

Do you prefer cut or uncut?

I personally think uncut is better as it looks more natural, and is probably better for bees and other insects. The flowers and other weeds that grow make it look nicer as well.

I don't think cutting a lawn is that bad as long as its not done too often, though.

edit: grass. This is a post about grass.

Edit: Lawns, like the grass in your lawn, jesus christ.

Why does tea taste different when I drink it outside?

    cross-posted from: https://lemm.ee/post/60110382

Unless I'm just going crazy, whenever I drink tea outside it has a slight aftertaste that I never get when I drink it elsewhere.
Edit to add, it has more taste, if that makes sense. It has a more complex taste.
