  • Personally Matrix has been kind of annoying to set up. I tried it around last year and after a bunch of issues creating an account (email link wasn't working I think) I used it for a little, then all messages became "could not decrypt" and I gave up on it

  • Maybe things changed but last I checked Matrix kinda sucked. I'm not sure how it's any more secure than Discord but it has worse quality for voice and video calls, so it just seems like Discord but worse, although no microtransactions is nice, although although there aren't any account decoration in the slightest either so

  • Agreed. I could only get on it after it 1. Actually started running the vast majority of video games (Wine and Proton developments mainly post-pandemic) and 2. Had decent performance thanks to Wayland (to this day KDE on X11 using my older GT1030 has embarrassing performance, but I've switched to an RX9060 so :3)

  • If I may, is there a way to quickly and easily have a disposable/revertible environment for building? For Fedora specifically. It's annoying to install a whole suite of packages because I need them just this once and then either manually delete the ones I didn't manually install before and actually need or just live with a whole bunch of devel packages that'll never be used again
