  • Yes I'm sending all my messages through SMTP2GO or Mailgun and never had any problems with emails going to the spam. Of course using a relay can be an issue when it comes to privacy, but I noticed that in my case I mainly receive emails with private information and only rarely send anything that could be used for tracking.

  • Welcome to [email protected] - What do you selfhost?

  • Which websites are you referring to? I never noticed any problems from the sites I use. Only when I encounter any kind of captcha I always have to manually select images and it will never solve itself like some did in the past. But not sure if thats due to me not being logged in with Google in my main browser or if it's caused by Honeygain.

  • 99.95% spam

lol may I ask what you have to do to get that amount of spam? I at most get one spam mail per month to my server and I have some addresses listed as contact information on my public websites.

  • There are enough people that don't have the technical knowledge to host their own instance which happily pay Bitwarden to do so. If I host my own software and pay for the servers myself I'm not gonna pay a monthly fee just to be able to use the software. Maybe a one time payment, but definitely no subscription.

  • Both, you can use an external 2FA app to secure your vault, but it has also an integrated authenticator that you then can use for other websites. I use Aegis for Vaultwarden and all other websites I save in Valutwarden itself.

  • No cause a few seconds after the internet goes out I'm getting spammed with emails from Uptime Kuma that my public websites went down. But I would only experience minor complications with my smart home and entertainment setup and could probably watch movies for around 2 or 3 weeks.

  • It really depends on the type of IP you have and your location, but it's really not much for me. From Honeygain I get like 20 bucks every 6 months and when paying out the money around 4$ get lost by transaction fees, but better than nothing and those services use so few resources, you don't even notice them running in the background.

I think that should be it. I left out some less important ones and probably forgot a few that I don't use that often. All these services are spread across 2 servers at home and a small VPS mainly used for the mailserver and Uptime Kuma.
