  • Has anyone tried out SteamOS?

  • I am relatively new to Linux and first tried to go with Linux Mint, because it was advertised as user friendly and good all around. But games, especially eldenring, did not run well and with a lot of stutter. I was kind of disappointed and switched to nobara. Now i am really happy with the experience, everything runs perfectly and without much problems.

    Any idea what could cause this, if evey distro is the same? As far as I could tell, I updated everything on mint to the latest available version and the GPU (7900 gre) was also correctly identified. Would be interesting what i could have changed to make it work.

  • Same for me. In the moment I left the starting dungeon I lost all interest in exploring the world. Tried it 3 times over the years and never progressed further. I am wondering if the remake might be different and worth another try... I heard so much good about oblivion that I really see me enjoying it.

  • Danke für den Hinweis, das hatte ich bisher nicht mitbekommen. Das ist ein Artikel, den ich dazu gefunden habe: Link Klingt nicht so, als müsste man direkt vom sinkenden Schiff verlassen. Aber befürchte auch, dass das nicht lange gut geht. Schade, die letzte europäische Alternative. Werde auf jeden fall die Augen bei AGB Änderungen offen halten...

  • Wieso ist es eigentlich so unvorstellbar, dass Dinge so viel kosten, sie sie kosten müssen? Wenn der Mindestlohn den Spargelpreis erhöht, dann kann das doch einfach so sein. Spargel ist kein Grundnahrungsmittel. Ich mag Spargel, aber dann gibt's den vielleicht 2 mal weniger im Jahr. Dann ist da vielleicht eine Sättigung des Marktes erreicht. Sowas muss doch auch erlaubt sein.

  • Hoffe, dass sich da noch mehr anschließen. Bin erst vor 1 Monat zu Linux gewechselt. Die größte Hürde dabei war die Entscheidung für eine distribution, und wäre auch schier daran gescheitert. Hatte oft gelesen, dass Linux Mint ein guter Allrounder ist und sehr nutzerfreundlich, daher damit gestartet. Spiele liefen zwar aber sehr langsam, bis heute weiß ich nicht warum. Danach zu nobara gewechselt und seither flutscht alles ohne Probleme. Wenn diese Hürden durch eine breiteren Support etwas kleiner werden, kann das mit Linux echt noch mehr in der Masse ankommen.

  • I don't know much about in-game purchases, but as long as i can remember, it was possible to register cd keys from other stores or even the keys from hard copys of games. To me this looks like a totally different thing than what was going on with ios and android. Also a little wild for epic to complain about locking out competition when i am still waiting to purchase Allan wake 2 on any other store than epic....

  • China will lower the prices until no company will remember the European independence and will only see profit. Worked over and over again. Maybe if the eu finds a way to protect the growing European companies. But at the moment, with the US becoming more and more unreliable as a business partner, I feel like the EU is searching for new friends and not more enemies.

  • Endlich mal eine etwas positive Nachricht zur aktuellen Politik in Deutschland. Allerdings verstehen Politiker heutzutage Gerichtsurteile eher als Vorschlag, statt als Vorgabe. Mal schauen, ob irgendetwas passiert...
