  • He isn't doing shit to the government. He's doing everything for the government, which is a republican administration. Everyone in that administration is accountable, including Musk. Everyone backing the administration is backing Trump and doge and Musk and their policies. These people will not change because they don't see anything wrong in their doing. Force the hand of those who disagree silently to become loud to force changes, by making them accountable.

  • Not saying you're not sensible. This is a genuine question. The number of trucks I saw when I visited the US (twice) was insane. Wouldn't a trailer fulfill the same needs at a much lower price while being much more flexible in day to day use?

  • So the US security guarantee is that the EU, which is not involved in the negotiations, is providing security guarantees. So even if Ukraine excepts, the EU would also have to except or Ukraine has, as in previous negotiations made by the republican administration, nothing.

  • You are absolutely incapable of judging the complexity of the tasks at hand. a) Calculating a hash of every uploaded image, comparing it against a blocklist, and extending the blocklist as needed b) validating each each post to distinguish truth from lie, facts from imagination and on top of that judging whether the presentation opinion fits in a moral/ethical framework of which a computer has no concept of.

A computer is a machine that calculates stuff. It "emulates a brain" to appear smart. A brain is a biological machine that is good in pattern detection and expression, which emulates a computer to do math to appear smart.

If you think an automated system can do it because you can do it, please spend your apparent infinit resources and time in implementing it rather than wasting your valuable time online insulting others who actually do something.

  • First: you people? Who are "we", are unable to identify such contents / opinions? Second: I'm not talking about people identifying content and filtering it, I am talking about automated systems. Do you think that they are filtering Nicole's by looking at each and every picture?

  • I guess limitless time and energy would be needed to identify authoritarian bots because it's much harder compared to identifying a person in an image. Should nothing be done because the larger problem can't be solved at the current time?

  • For that last one, why not shit in your microwave and set it to 340W. That would easily allow you to test the system without buying any new appliance, except for a microwave if you don't have one.

  • I'm mostly curious how higher dimensioal space could explain (perceived) expansion. Like: maybe we live in a 3d bubble embedded in an n-d space which keeps on collapsing, pouring more and more energy into our "universe"...

  • My Chrystal ball says that Elon keeps realizing agenda 2025 until the resistance within their own ranks becomes unbearable. While Elon makes news Trump makes legislation to fuck over whoever he can. Only then, goat Elon gets scaped by savior Donald to appease Maga and everything is in shambles.

    Bug on a cucumber

This bug lives on my cucumber in central Germany (vine region). Should I do something about them?

    USB-C

    Hello,

This does not directly relate to android or android devices but as this seems to be one of the more active communities, I thought I should give it a shot here.

I'm Wondering why the USB C socket and plug have the geometry they have. To me, it seems like the more complex hardware is located in the socket which is located on the more expensive device compared to the cable. Firebolt (is that the apple standard's name?) seem to handle it the opposite by having the flat plug with bare contacts.

Background is that I have frequently had issues with charging my phone due to dust or other dirt getting suck in the socket. Lacking adequate household items, I had to use a small screw driver to get the dirt out, which I think in general a bad idea.

Are there any technical reasons to have the flat contact in the center of the usb socket rather than the plug?
