  • The Poles have quietly been building one of the largest militaries on earth. They're not trying to let themselves get conquered or partitioned again. I don't think it would take much for them to go eagerly to war with a belligerent Russia. More likely Russian's next conquest will be against small and vulnerable countries like Georgia or the Baltics if they can get NATO to crumble (or Trump goes to war against NATO over Greenland).

Russia is attempting to conquer a neighboring country because it was previously a part of the Russian Empire (which literally has empire in the name). You have to bury your head in the sand pretty deeply to pretend otherwise.

  • I had a full time job the entire time I was couch hopping. But in 2008, there was alot of uncertainty about keeping that job. Getting treated differently by police when they saw the very large back pack on my back was definitely an eye opener.

  • Also if I was homeless I’d basically need drugs and/or alcohol to cope with it - I can barely handle working a cushy office job while having stable accommodation without needing to rely on drugs as a crutch, do you really think that I’d rely on drugs less if my circumstances were significantly worse?

    I've read studies where giving the homeless a no strings attached apartment was the single most effective way to reduce their drug and alcohol use.

  • I appreciate these studies because giving resources to poor people is in the best interest of poor people. But lets do some studies where they give 5-20 bucks to the homeless because that more faithfully replicates me handing them money as opposed to a Universal Basic Income.

They've been spoon fed American Exceptionalism so long, they can't understand that there were reasons for our success that aren't "we're great" or "foreigners are dumb".     There's been some criticism for Hamas because they're a Right Wing group founded and financially supported by the Israeli government (Right Wing) for the express purpose of weakening the PLO (Left) and undermining Palestinian unity.

    I've never met or spoke online to an anarchist online who wasn't opposed to western imperialism. I've also never spoken to someone "with a bone to grind" with those against western imperialism unless they are rival imperialists in which case the "bone to grind" is with imperialism.

The most sexually successful guy I know has tons to talk about, isn't afraid of striking up conversations, and treats women like real people. Over time that has translated into an abundance of sex.
