  • I'm not entirely shocked. They get kicked off mainstream sites regularly, they need somewhere for their echo chamber to exist.

  • Public domain audiobooks, read by members of the community. It's a beautiful thing - which is why AI scrapers seem currently determined to tear it down.

  • Sadly, yeah. Unfortunately, I'm not really capable of sounding the alarm, and whoever runs the Xwitter page for Librivox have not posted anything in over a year. They should be crying out for aid, but there's crickets in the public eye.

  • Well, I'll never see it, unless TI or another American company designs their own version.

  • Having looked at the forum, they seem to be under attack by a swarm of AI scrapers. If anyone can help them defend against the attack, please do so.

  • For me it's simple: I lost my planned career. I was going to be a librarian. The money to give me a scholarship dried up. So I pulled myself together, bopped through decent jobs for a decade or so, and now have a career.

  • We all want an authority figure like Marshal Dillon

  • Unironically, Ditto.

  • There's also lishogi, if you want to learn that game.

  • It was down at the moment I posted, I didn't want to push more traffic until they were back online.

  • Well, you have to account for decimalization at least.

  • Making sure to keep it legal, right?

Let's stick with Project Gutenberg - Public domain ebooks and other media, spanning centuries. They're incredibly important for keeping our literary past alive.

    I might have more later.

  • So, as I expected, the judgment is entirely useless. Without strong enforcement, these judgments are utterly valueless. The court exists as a watchdog against corruption and abuse - but at this point, it's contributing. He should absolutely be micromanaging the White House and looking out to preserve the meaning of our Constitution.

  • Is this intended to be surprising? He's not saying anything that people haven't been saying for decades. Nor has this been any kind of a secret.

  • Mint here. It looks like Windows and runs the software and hardware I want. Simple as that.

  • As much as I get the idea behind this, she bought that dress pre-tariff. We cannot, and should not, expect that people only wear their clothing once. Yes, obviously she should be seeking out clothing made in the USA, by US designers and with US materials. But that sourcing does take time. And in the meantime, in our crud-flooded world, we all need clothes.

  • Well, this way the apartheidist will never see the bugs he's introduced into any of the systems he's broken.

  • That's the whole idea. They want to make travel from or to the USA difficult and unsafe. If you can't immigrate via an embassy, most people are going to avoid immigration, and those that do can probably be considered "illegal" in some way. If Americans leave the USA, they're not going to have a government to support them if they have a local issue.

  • So she's not just joining Truth Social? I'm surprised.
