Man I'm not happy about it either, but there's no reality where we can talk our way out of this as a society. There will unfortunately be blood, whether it's protests against the system getting rowdy with rage, or Fascist crackdowns as the Criminals in Chief seek power consolidation. We're in for a rough ride no matter what.
Buddy, I don't know how much clearer they need to be before you understand that they WILL start coming after American Citizens, of ALL types, so long as they don't fall in line with the Fascist Regime. Hell, they've already started, just look at all the recent stories of people being detained at the borders over nonsense, like that couple in Vermont, or that guy in the southwest. Whether you like it or not, you and I are both targets, simply because we are willing to say 'No' to their demands. Even if it's not you or I, this shit WILL get violent before we're through, and no amount of logical argument or rhetoric will change that.
Do you even hear yourself? Do you actually think these Fascist Goons are gonna patiently listen to your logical arguments and rhetoric, and just let you go? No, they won't. They're gonna swoop in, grab you off the street, and throw you into the back of a van before you can open your mouth. Trying to out-argue a fascist takeover is a fool's errand; the only thing they respect is power for power's sake. But hey, if you wanna try talking your way out of being illegally deported by Goons with subaverage IQs, be my guest.
That's a lot of words for not a lot of results. Yes, I am in fact saying that by simple fact of working for ICE, you are a bad person, and I hate you.
One of the defining major differences between ICE goons and the MD guy they snatched off the street, as well as everyone else they've deported without due process, is that ICE is currently an arm of the government. They are inherently an extension of the current power structure, and by following these orders to randomly and wantonly deport people without notice or process, they are enabling it. Trying to come at this with the stance of "it's not that simple, guys! Believe me!" is disingenuous at best, and sympathetic at worst.
Moreover, I have seen zero news about ICE officials stepping down or getting fired in disgrace for all this bullshit. Considering that, they are either wholly and happily complicit, or completely apathetic to the whole thing. Neither is good.
There are no good people in ICE. It doesn't matter how they present themselves outside of work, they're all Fascist class traitors willingly upholding and legitimizing a Fascist regime, detaining and deporting citizens and immigrants alike ILLEGALLY, and filling the role of the Gestapo from Fascist Germany. Being abusive, racist, and a bastard probably isn't mandatory for the role, but it's the overwhelming majority of people who work there.
Do not pity or feel sorry for them, they'd kill you if they could get away with it.
Yeah, I also use a pen tablet for some stuff, and it handles it decently well. One issue I've run into with it is that if I turn my monitor off while the tablet is plugged in, there's like a 50/50 chance the monitor won't load video unless I turn the tablet on too. It's funky. Otherwise, getting my RTX4070 up and running wasn't too hard. It's a good distro for idiots (me).
I recently moved to Fedora KDE Plasma after years on W10, simply because I don't want to use W11 and its AI bullshit. So far, it's been a great time, and I haven't noticed any major performance issues, so I'm happy with it. Having to update everything every few days is pretty novel though, and 'sudo dnf update -y' makes me feel like Hackerman, king of all Hackers. I think I like the customization options most though. I get way more control over what happens on my PC than W10 ever gave me, and it's all wrapped in a very user-friendly GUI. Overall 8.5-9/10.
Anything and everything goes with fascists. Standards mean nothing to then, and if it weren't for double standards, they'd have none at all. Expect nothing except for the complete destruction of social and government programs that help society at large.
Of course. A bike this good demands good riding company. Gonna take some time to learn the feel of it before committing to any super twisty rides, though.
Hey all, just thought I'd post an update. Sad to say it, but insurance has written my bike off as a Total Loss. The front end is mangled just enough that their inspector said frame damage was basically guaranteed around the steering column. It's a bleeding tragedy, but my bike is off to the great Hog Meet in the Sky.
As for me, I'm handling it as best I can. Ankle is healing up, and my shoulder is almost back to normal. Yippee! I'll be buying a new bike sometime this week, a 2012 VStrom with some 30K miles on it, for $2500 from a friend. As much as I wish I could keep it, this is the end of the road for my SR400.
Finally, I'd again like to remind people to wear All The Gear, All The Time. Even with everything that's happened, I got off easy because my gear saved me. Wear the gear, even if it looks silly, because it'll help save your life.
Was cruising with my riding group in Virginia, when I took a curve too fast, too wide. Ended up in the hospital, with a broken ankle and badly bruised shoulder.
It could've been worse. FAR worse. Thankfully, I subscribe to ATGATT, and made it out with relatively minor injuries. If you, or anyone you know, thinks it's OK to skimp on riding gear, let this be the reminder you need to hear: it isn't, and WHEN you crash, not if, you will regret not wearing proper gear.
Made in my conventional oven, 550F for 11 minutes, using a pizza stone. Pineapple, jalapenos, pepperoni, and some pineapple/jalapeño hot honey for toppings.
Recipe for the dough.
It's been a wonderful first bike! I was surprised by the kickstart-only ignition, but it was actually quite easy once I got used to it, and probably doubles as an anti-theft measure lol. Riding around the DMV area has been a blast, I'm looking forward to many more roadtrips to come!
