  • I don't think you all understand, the T-Mobile CEO has a fiduciary duty to shareholders, which is a responsibility to act in their best interests and their sole interest is making money. If the CEO doesn't turn over every stone to find a way to make money or reduce costs, they're breaking the law.

Oh wait, you all do understand this horseshit better than most. Lemmy is my sane place 🥰

  • Can no one else manufacture semaglutide?

  • Yup, and it makes the car look more future-ish to impress potential buyers! It's a win for shareholders and a loss for safety and ease of use.

  • For a moment I thought you were going to say "doing God's work"

  • Ut! Aurelia Borealis?

  • Ehh we can and should do better than T9. ...but then the phone might start to become fun to use, drawing you back in... Bring back T9!

  • They should relocate their headquarters again, just too close to the factory still

  • Lol, if that's a feature now, Google has hid it 😞

  • Permanently Deleted

  • Like most of you, my brain ingests random things and chews on them to produce weird nonsensical things, like when I go to the Midwestern US supercenter chain Meijer, I say if it somehow went into deep space, went through a black hole, and returned two hundred years later, it would be known as M'jer.

I think of this every time I'm there.

  • It should also be said, "It's hard to be a Theist when you're taking a stroll through a cemetery with 100+ year old tomb stones where every other one is a dead child."

  • Did you recently watch that Sam O'Nella about banned foods too? I had heard about that cheese before the video, but it would be a funny (and gross) coincidence that I encountered two mentions of that cheese in less than 24 hours

  • I think the point of the phrase is to generate outrage to push against it

  • Later in this thread, someone talked about encountering houses that didn't have numbers on them.

  • The 30 minutes or it's free deal really became dangerous and was discontinued. Still, learning the city map by heart and combing through unlabeled houses was impressive.

  • I sort of like the misspellings, feels like more like a creative choice than a failure of the technology

  • Good old Sony Mavicas 🥲

  • I'd argue YTP are better produced than what this article is talking about. I love absurdist humor, but this article is not talking about that. I've seen some stupid fucking shit get offered to my child to watch and would prefer her to watch YTPs instead. She's banned from watching YouTube kids by herself.

  • Yeah, keep them off YT and YT Kids. Jesus, the stupid brain melting human-made videos are worse enough as it is and kids love watching this shit over well-produced content. The only time I allow my kid to watch YT Kids is when I can watch too and it's on my phone. Recently she started watching a video with an anamorphic cat that was pregnant with a Zombie baby. Of course, YT is the one that offered her this content to watch anyway.

If you don't want to supervise what your kids watch, lock down their tablet or computer to only connect to streaming services you pay for. People are paid to produce this much higher quality content and then it is reviewed by people who know what should be acceptable for kids to watch. Compare this to some jackass on YouTube who can make the worst garbage imaginable, with or without the help of AI, and the YouTube algorithm is more than happy to shove it in your child's face. Which would you prefer your child to watch?

  • And if I were to attempt this, I'd get tickets all the time. It pisses me off seeing these illegal car mods and nothing ever gets done about them. Might as well just take the fucking license plate off, don't have to worry about any repercussions!

  • Oh, and you forgot the next steps if you wanted it on your computer: Find some one with a scanner and copy it to a floppy disk or wait 10-20 minutes to email it.

Digital cameras were a revelation! They removed those stepsSHIT I FORGOT THE DAMN PROPRIETARY DATA TRANSFER CABLE!

    Missing comments

Pretty much any post on Lemmy is missing comments and they never show up no matter what I do. Sometimes I can fidget with the sorting, clicking "New" and "chat" and one or two may show up, but not all. I am guaranteed if a thread has X comments, only a fraction of those are visible to me. It sucks to see on one of my posts that I have 10 comments, but can only see 3, for example.

Also, sometimes I get a reply from someone that I can read in my inbox, but when I click to go to the original thread, it's not there.

I really like Lemmy, but this annoys the hell out of me and I don't understand why it is happening.

Edit: To clarify, I am using the Lemmy.World default web interface in the LibreWolf browser.

    Solution:

    Thanks @NiaTheCat!

[In your profile settings, in addition to "Undetermined," also] make sure English is selected too, you’ll see comments marked with no language but you won’t see any marked as English directly without it, and som
