At least Blue Sky supports community block lists. You can block every nazi with the click of a button
No algorithms isn’t a selling point to the average user. My Mastodon feed is kinda sad and boring, if I’m not on top of it I’ll just miss interesting posts that happened in the days I didn’t open the app.
Bluesky custom feeds really help with that, while still providing the chronological no-algorithm view as your main feed. It’s just a more interesting experience for people that aren’t chronically online.
Who the hell is Sprint?
“Illegal immigrant” is politically charged but not nearly as dehumanizing as calling people “illegals”.
Your use of the word “illegals” to refer to human beings just outs you as a racist piece of shit.
There’s so many anti-Mozilla people on Lemmy it’s crazy. I’m getting downvotes in other threads in this community for pointing out that all the anti-Mozilla FUD has amounted to nothing of substance.
Nothing. People have been memeing about it’s death for 10 years.
Dear iPhone users:
I know this is in Memes and obvious bait, but you're comparing a phone with a $1300 launch price to a phone that's launching at $800. If you compared it to the $1000 16 Pro your bait wouldn't be as good.
Firefox forks have dozens of users! Dozens!
Tumblr announced they were gonna integrate with ActivityPub years ago. It’s been silence on the topic since then, hopefully this move to Wordpress is a step towards joining the Fediverse.
The link to the original TechCrunch article doesn’t seem to be working, but here’s a mirror on Slashdot: https://m.slashdot.org/story/407458
Clinton won the popular vote by the amount that polls predicted. She lost the EC due to razor thin margins in some battleground states, which were well within the margin of error of polls in those states.
Everyone thinks 2016 was a miss for polls, it was not. It was a miss for forecasting models that had Clinton at 90%+ chances of winning while her numbers in many battleground states were really tossups.
Signal is open source. Go read the source or a write up describing what it does.
Signal doesn’t store your encryption key in the cloud and yet it supports e2ee messaging on multiple devices including desktop.
Telegram is not private messaging.
China will never rule Taiwan, they’re not gonna start a war with all their trading partners over an island. It’s a nationalist rallying cry, nothing more.
The hotdog vendor keeps going on about how he’s the good guy because he pays more to the sausage suppliers. As if that’s at all relevant to his customers.
Their own original content apparently 🤣
Firefox already blocks all trackers by default. I think Mozilla is trying to be the good guy by providing a more private option that’s available to people that don’t use Firefox. It seems pretty naive, but I think their heart is in the right place.
At the end of the day, this is just another setting to toggle off on a fresh install for those of us against all tracking and advertising on the web.
That’s the joke. The New York Times are a bunch of chodes trying to sell you the narrative that Dems are unpopular.
