  • A funny slip of the tongue, but it's gotta sting when the DUI hire knows damn well that they're already scouting for his replacement.

  • Yeah man we get it, piracy good, laws bad, yar har and all that shit. This guy's still an idiot, and so is anybody defending him.

  • Conservatives love their pedo musicians. It's also why they love Ted Nugent, who has lyrics so vile that I'm not even going to put them here.

  • You're not going to want to hear this, but you're being paranoid. And not in the good, self-preservation way, but in the bad, "everyone and everything is out to get me" kind of way.

I saw your comments about the wiring picture. It's not an AI image, but you're so convinced it is that you're relying on other AI tools to try to prove your point, which is incorrect to begin with.

    You're seeing boogeymen.

  • Weird how the man with a laundry list of convictions to his name suddenly no longer believes in the whole "innocent until proven guilty" thing.

  • It's far too late for that, Elon; we want your fucking head now.

  • US: Then Trump can't deport every person he wants.

It really should be that simple.

  • Next week:

Margarine Trailer Queen: "What do you mean there's another pope?!"

  • She has a Secret Service detail, and still managed to get robbed? I hope she feels real safe going out in public knowing that they can't even protect her purse.

  • Yes, because innocent people always love to hide their innocence. Right.

  • These are still pretty popular today. Maybe not this particular model, but talking watches are still used by many blind people.

  • I'd love to read a feel-good article about this man's suicide.

  • RICO, from just a few years prior to the aforementioned act, makes it so that the one issuing the orders takes the fall.

  • How can you possibly blame this kid when Cybertrucks have been known to self-immolate? They have faulty batteries that catch on fire left and right; the rustbucket was likely already on fire before he got there.

  • That's insane! I'm over here getting grumpy when it takes longer than 90 seconds, lol.

  • That's no moon...

  • Uh oh, Harvard staff better be on high alert. Last time the White House made an "administrative error", they sent somebody to a concentration camp before mocking him on social media.

What do you do if you encounter a skunk?

I often make late-night walks down the street to the convenience store. Due to my work/sleep schedule, I can pretty much only do this late at night.

Unfortunately, this seems to be the same time that the local skunks begin prowling around the undeveloped lot between my home and the convenience store. Luckily, they've not yet gotten close enough to be a threat, but I always worry that one night I won't be so lucky, and I'll accidentally sneak up on one and spook it into spraying me.

I've looked online, and most of the articles I can find on the subject are about how to keep skunks from occupying your property in the first place. Which is great, but I don't own the property they're hanging out in, so I can't do much about that. I couldn't find many articles about skunk encounters that offer much advise beyond "stay away, dummy". Which I obviously plan to do, but life doesn't always go according to plan.

I live in the city, so it's actually kinda weird that there are skunks th

YSK: There are 6 levels (0-5) of autonomous driving

Why YSK: Some car manufacturers, such as Tesla, will lie about the capabilities of their autonomous vehicles. Misplaced trust in self-driving technology leads drivers into making unsafe decisions while on the road, endangering the lives of themselves and drivers around them. Understanding what your car is capable of, in comparison to what the salesman told you it was capable of, is important to keep in mind when purchasing or operating such a product.

Currently, no Tesla product - including the inappropriately-named "Full Self Driving" mode - has surpassed Level 2 autonomy, falling behind competitors such as Waymo, NAVYA, and Volvo, who all have Level 4 cars in production.

    What Happened to Decades?

Seriously, what happened to the idea of decades? We’re already halfway through the "20s," yet for the past twenty years, the cultural conversation has been dominated by "generations" instead. Here’s why that shift isn’t doing anyone any favors.

Adam Conover talks about time, culture, and linguistics. I'm not sure about the accuracy of some of the things he talks about, and he admits that he's largely speculating on some topics. I felt it was something interesting to think about.

What do drain unclogging liquids actually do?

I've got a clogged sink, and have been reading the labels on a bunch of different products lately. I'd always assumed that they were a strong acid of sorts, which would dissolve whatever sort of material was built up in the pipes. But I've noticed that a lot of these products specify that they're non-corrosive, so I'm not sure what other sort of mechanism may be at play here.

THE FINALS - A community for players of the free-to-play FPS game, The Finals

I got tired of there not being a place to geek out over one of the best FPS games I've played in ages, so I decided to be the change I wish to yada yada, so I made one.

The Finals is a free, competitive FPS game made by Embark Studios - a dev team formed by a bunch of old developers from the Battlefield series. All classes, weapons, abilities, and game modes are completely free and can only be unlocked through game progression; the only things you can spend money on are cosmetics, though the game also gives you a ton of free cosmetic items through various events, account progression, and the free season pass tier. It's available on Steam, GeForce Now, Xbox S|X, PS5, and will be available on PS4 later this year.

It's a super fun, super flashy, and super addicting game. If you haven't already tried it: give it a shot, it's free! So it'll cost you nothing but your time. Heck, if you have a GFN account, you don't even have to download anything, you can literally be playing right now. A

TIL that some Shinto mythology refers to October as "the month without gods", as this is the time the gods take to gather at Izumo Shrine and check in with each other on the state of the world.

    😇👋A MONTH OF NO GODS🧳⛩️

There is a quaint belief that in the 10th month the gods of Japan congregate for a great gathering to discuss matchmaking at Izumo-taisha (出雲大社) in Shimane Prefecture.

Only hard-of-hearing Ebisu and the Sun Goddess miss this annual pilgrimage.

    Further reading:

In the tenth month of the traditional lunar calendar, a festival is held to welcome all the gods to Izumo Grand Shrine. It is believed that the gods convene at Izumo Shrine in October to discuss the coming year's marriages, deaths, and births. For this reason, people around the Izumo area call October kamiarizuki ("the month with gods"), but the rest of Japan calls October Kannazuki ("the month without gods").
