Good luck! Terrariums are their own art form and mystery, and so pretty. If like an update on that whenever you set it up! I bet it'll be an interesting one.
Thanks for the recs! Theres a lot to look into with those.
The light is just a regular LED. Honestly, visually to my eyes it seems almost as bright as the grow light I have at home. But I know visually the brightness can be deceiving.
Jewel orchids especially are super pretty. But I have trouble with even the generic grocery store flower section ones 😅
Those leaves are gorgeous!

Interesting/colorful/iridescent plant recs for this light situation?

Hello!
I've got these plants currently, in an office with an LED light that's about 24in above the desktop, or about 12-18 inches above the plants (depending on the plant). I have a little mister for humidity.
I'd like to add maybe a spider plant (had great success with those in the past no matter what light they got???) and maybe one or two more, and wanted to see what recommendations y'all might have (I know pothos is a big one). I'm specifically looking for something with colorful or irridescent leaves. I see some great begonias and Persian shields and wonder if the light is good for them. I know some say those are both easy plants but I had a bad experience with Persian shield previously.
What would you consider this light? I can't imagine it's comparable to the sun at all so I'm guessing bright Indirect with how close it is to the plants?
I loooove and I've only had succulents before, with the exception of spider plants and a tradescantia, that I had to give away before mov
10 points, though maybe less depending on how strict you are. For example I've seen floppy disks and seen my dad use them (we had a whole stack of them at home), or my mom send and receive faxes, but by the time I was old enough to use a computer or need to send communications it was CDs and email instead of faxes.
That's good to know. Thank you!
Wonderful insight thank you! I am a little hesitant to prune because it is still pretty cool like this even and I don't want to just throw away leaves so that's nice to hear.

Plumosa fern - is it possible to encourage more bushy growth rather than just tall?

Hello! Recently got a pot for this guy. While I'm repotting I may try to split it- I want to encourage it to be more bushy. I have been reading a bit about how to encourage bushiness and it seems I could either separate it at the root so the base is wider and hope it fills in, and/or prune.
Just wanted to see if any of you had success with this or generally getting them to grow more bushy than tall. This one sits directly under a bright fluorescent light at work (less than 12 inches above the plant, maybe 8).
If you've pruned one of these, how would you recommend going about it?
Thanks!

I started with just running outside and some workouts to follow along to on YouTube.
Growingananans channel has some great bodyweight exercises which you can add weights to, and some are with weights as well. There are a lot of others as well. Lots of channels also show modifications for beginners that make the exercises easier until the beginner develops the stamina/muscle to do the harder versions.
I spent a year and a half using weights and you tube exercise videos when I didn't have access to a gym. My apartment complex has a gym included in rent now so I may add well get my money's use out of it, but even then I still use YouTube exercises.
I also really like Paula B's exercises even though they're for older women and I'm not quite there yet. Still her constant movement still gets my heart rate up despite them being more moderate workouts. They're also easy to modify to more heavy/high intensity by doubleing the speed you do them or adding weights, so she's great to begin with and even grow with. Grow with Jo (Gro with Jo?) Is also also someone great to begin with and and intensity to when you are ready.
They were! Though its a little to early in the season for strawberries I guess, the strawberry wasnt as flavorful as I would have liked. Next time though!
Yes, cheese is my god.
That would be hilarious!
Definitely make it an airbrushed wizard van!

Or even better a Warlock van

Saw a pickup some time ago where the person had painted on an epic scene of a wizard battling a dragon on their tailgate. Really well done, beautiful epic high fantasy chiaroscuro painting. I wish I could have taken a photo but...driving.
Work has been chaotic this week so the days have been late so far, but I did have time last night to make strawberry muffins with a streusel topping.
On Sunday I reported my tiny plant collection so I could bring a couple of them to my desk at work.
Lovely colors!
May the pepper gods bless you with bountiful harvest!
Thank you. They certainly deserved it 😂
You are in for a ride! It's also really well done as an audiobook, though sometimes the narrators changed their minds on how to pronounce some of the names 😅

Supurrvisors must always do quality control on your projects

Every time I try to work on a project at least one of them has to be involved, probably doing quality control
Oh exciting!
Ghost's new single Satanized will not leave my head!
A nail one would be great. Maybe we can make one.

They've become good friends

Back in August, a stray cat (black and white) came across our path and after a few mornings she began to follow us everywhere and wait outside the door or in the patio for us to come out all day and night. After a vet trip we took her in and she's integrated well with the two boys we had. One of them has become excellent friends with her 💙
