  • The staircase cat tree looks awesome! Miez is such a lucky cat to have a talented human servant.

  • This is not entirely true. Malaysia and other countries have very conservative laws and social policies. Also, the English teaching industry is not what it was in the early 2000s. Most countries now have enough of their own English speaking population, and the.standards for foreign teachers have increased as a result. Even Vietnam requires a TESL diploma, which requires a degree to take. Any school that would employ someone illegally is not an employer to seek out as they (unsurprisingly) do illegal things in their workplace. Risk of deportation, the school being shut down, not getting paid, etc, is very high. Do not work illegally in another country.

  • I trim the really long/gangly growths to maintain the size and density. You can tell before a frond has fully grown if it's going to be long. After a while of doing this mine seemed to 'learn' to grow shorter and I rarely have to do it now.

  • Maybe not WW3, but more like American War* 2. China will finally get an opportunity to update it's Museum of American Aggression** displays.

*American War is how many Asian nations refer to the Korean War/Vietnam War ** https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memorial_of_the_War_to_Resist_US_Aggression_and_Aid_Korea; when I visited it in 2014 it was the name I previously mentioned - it was interesting to say the least. Mostly some weird propaganda and left behind military equipment.

  • While they do explode, getting them to do so on the target would be the challenge. I suppose just dropping the vehicles as is would do some damage too.

  • FYI: Canada has a Prime Minister, not a president. Your points still hold up all the same.

  • A literal carrot would be an improvement over the current orange tyrant.

  • Butchart gardens

    Royal museum of British Columbia

    Legislative Assembly buildings

    Walk around the downtown/waterfront area

Chinatown (Victoria has the oldest one in Canada)

Hatley Castle (x men was filmed here)

Craigdarroch castle (it's more a large Victorian mansion but still cool)

Beacon Hill park (don't run over the peacocks in the street - seriously - they're a traffic hazard)

There are lovely beaches in the northern parts of the island and Sunshine coast.

  • Does your province have a job/employment center they fund? For example, BC has WorkBC centres that have job boards and offer services to help edit and build resumes and cover letters.

I do also have to repeat what others have said: get a phone number/plan. While many will reach out by email, some still call.

  • 10/10 loaf- purrfect form!

  • I can feel the judgement through my screen.

  • With homelessness becoming increasingly illegal, they'll die in some kind of work gulag... sorry, "freedom" camp.

  • That's what a control group is. All participants are given the information upfront about the study parameters, called informed consent. Participants can leave a study at anytime.

No one forced them to participate.

  • While they're Americanizing names, they might as well bring back Liberty Cabbage and Freedom Fries.

  • Not a movie, but BBC earth series (ie Blue Planet, Frozen Planet, etc) look amazing in 4K. You can see the scales on octopi and feel like you're underwater with the fish.

    New Cat on the Block

    (Not my cat)

Met this cat in my strata complex today chilling on some steps. It was largely indifferent, until my camera was ready and some screaming children were running its way. Even then it didn't run away! Hopefully I will have the opportunity to make this cat's acquaintance again.

    Aeonium Collection

I've had most these for 1-2 years and love how crazy they look.

    My Calathea Bloomed

I thought it was just another leaf growing, but to my surprise it was a bloom stalk. It lasted less than 24 hours before expiring, and a second opened up. It's always cool to get surprise blooms!

    Meet my potato forest

    Zone 8b

    Varieties: Russian blue, white

Grown in potato planting bags for good drainage. They are in the process of flowering, and some have produced a fruit (very poisonous - do not eat it). Hoping for lots of potatoes this year 🙂

The floppy plants to the left are garlic (soft and hardneck Italian). They are fine; they got too tall and fell over.

New cat on the block is a photogenic boi

Saw this guy chilling on my deck railing, and as soon as the camera came out, he struck this pose.

Made a new friend while on a walk

This floofy boi befriended me while on a walk around my strata. He's friendly and wants all the pets and scratches.

    Lithops at all 4 stages

My lithops have been in various stages of splitting for the past few months. They have decided to show the process all in one pot! The potting medium is perlite.

    My special aoenium

I saved this plant from my office 6 months ago because it had nearly no leaves, and now she's green and growing in a unique way. If this is what healthy looks like, it's all good with me.
