E-bikes and scooters displace 4x as much demand for oil as all of the EVs in the world.

Me definitely! I can't handle loud spaces, especially social gatherings where there is chatter echoing throughout the room. I get so overloaded I have to leave and find quiet spaces to calm down.
I love this one! It's short, snappy, and cuts to the simple matter that despite all of the complexities surrounding feminism this is essentially what it's about.
What are they going to do when the suggestions are to do something other than rip out bike lanes and add more car lanes?
We love Pedro Pascal
Good!
I've never heard of "Drop". Culture has changed a lot in the last 20 years and how we learn about new movies is largely being fed the list of movies we are going to hear about by an algorithm. Granted, I'm specifically avoiding that kind of thing, but for most people they are going to hear about it on Tiktok or Youtube or Shiznab or Fwuhungo or wherever the kids these days hang out. - Shakes fist at clouds - And simply "cranking out original movies" isn't good enough anyway. Are they good movies? Because people will talk about them if they are good. And sometimes even being good isn't enough if the current social climate just isn't into what the movie is doing. Movies at their very best are art, and a lot of the best ones flopped at the box office, only to be rediscovered years later. idk where I'm going with this.. just rambling and also I still have no interest in slop or infinite sequels.
Usually turkey or a ham with a spread of roasted or steamed veggies. My brother likes to make deviled eggs, so he brings those over. It's simple, but I love the ritual of it! For the fall and winter family meals I also like to make a cauliflower casserole which is layers of cauliflower, sour cream, and Hungarian sausage. That feels too rich for a spring meal though.
For me it was always just chocolate and the family meal. And now it's that, plus a way to mark the seasons I suppose.
I'm trans and shortly after I came out to my Mom I asked her what baby girl names she had picked out for me when she was expecting. During her pregnancy her doctors had told her she was going to have a girl, and turns out they were right! So I wanted to choose a name for myself from the options she had come up with at the time. So I got to pick a name that I loved, and she still got to name her daughter. It's one of my happiest memories!
Oh, absolutely expected. Still hanging on to my butt and hoping people stop him before he decides to 'liberate' my country.
Holy, that is chilling. Even for him.
In this climate of post-law America.. yeah. Whatever will happen will happen I guess.
In my riding CPC is projected "likely" to win. When I moved here it was the place that consistently voted green party and now it's conservative. Crazy. And all the left needs to do is not split the vote. I don't particularly care which party wins my riding as long as it's not the CPC, but they are most likely going to win even though only 35% of the people support them. Frustrating.
Oh, I know. I've got a friend in Austin. The state is heavily gerrymandered. It is infuriating.
My heart is literally breaking for the folks down there. :(
In other words, carbon capture is not practical or scalable.
Enraged, but not surprised.

I don't want Apple to win, but I DO want Musk to lose.
I don't think I'm quite the target of this comment because I don't pretend it doesn't exist or that it isn't something that people use or care about. But I do avoid using AI for anything that matters.. like at all. I also refuse to use chatgpt or any of the commercial offerings. I do play around with locally hosted stuff because the tech is interesting, but there is no way I would ever put my faith in it. Also, my feelings toward the biggest players in the industry are at best "disgust". So I don't want to use their products.
So my question then how exactly can I be in the room to help shape decisions? The only two levers I have to pull is whether or not to send those companies money, and whether to even use the free services or not.
What exactly am I supposed to do? The companies will just make whatever models and tune them however they feel will achieve whatever goals they have regardless. And presently, their goals do not align with mine.
I won't be surprised when we are fucked. I promise you that. I can see that coming. But I feel utterly powerless to stop the tech fascists.
Looking for TV recommendations
Currently I have a 40 inch LG that I bought so long ago that I don't even remember, but with where I sit to view it reading text it a little difficult for me. Playing games on it is more or less a no go. I'd also like to upgrade to hdr and enjoy some 4k movies on a display that will let them shine. Accurate colours are something that is more important to me than not. My budget would be CAD $1000-$2000. I sit about 3m away from where the tv would be mounted and I don't have the best eyesight so leaning on the larger side would be better?
I find looking up recommendations on youtube to be pretty difficult. There are a lot of channels that talk about them but they end up only really recommending stuff out of my price range or they conflict with what other people had said about those tvs. Some people recommend the more budget oriented options, others say to stay away like the plague!
Edit: One hard requirement is that it must be usable if it's not connected to any network. The television
Looking for self hosted digital asset management
I'm looking to be able to store assets that I've created and purchased (both 3d models and images, potentially audio in the future) on my nas and would love to be able to use something to browse them and filter or sort them based on what kind of usage license I have for them. So if I'm doing a commission I can filter out the "personal use only" assets available. As the primary use is for visual arts assets, large preview images would be perfect. Teeny tiny icons not nearly as useful when browsing through image elements to find something you like.
I'm really looking for a self hosted option, ideally one with a docker container available but I could also spin up a virtual machine to host it if required.
Does anyone know of something that would fit the bill?
280 million e-bikes are slashing oil demand far more than electric cars. E-bikes and scooters displace 4x as much demand for oil as all of the EVs in the world.

Disaster preparedness should be a much bigger consideration in our infrastructure and built environment.

Remnant 2 Summoner on subsequent playthroughs?
I'm wondering if anyone here knows how to add the summoner archetype to a character AFTER you've unlocked it. I have already gone through that ordeal and can select the summoner as a new character. But I'd like to add the summoner to a new gunslinger and don't know if the grimoire might be available in the ward. I hope it is! But I suspect it is not.
Edit: As luck would have it, and it is fantastically lucky, I ended up getting a bloodmoon immediately after posting this question. In case you are wondering about how to unlock it, here's what I know ::: spoiler spoiler You can look up guides on how to unlock the class and that's easy enough. You need to craft an item at an altar, and it is going to cost you blood moon essence which you can farm from wisps that spawn during a blood moon. What you don't find online is how to actually spawn the blood moon. I do not have good news here. It seems random and extremely rare. I have tried killing the doe as suggested. No bloodmoon. PSVR 2 on PC project gets SteamVR output working - but without tracking, and custom adapter will be required.
TLDR; there's no tracking and it requires a piece of hardware in between the psvr2 and pc. But they got past one major technical hurdle.

There's a proven way to stop bike theft. So why are so few cities doing it?
"Bike theft isn't just a nuisance. It's a serious problem plaguing almost every city in the world, and it stifles bike-friendliness, discourages people from riding, fuels crime and undermines our sense of community. Yet almost no cities are doing anything to seriously tackle the problem. "
This is a great video from Shifter about the benefits of bicycle registries. If you cycle in an area with a bike theft problem, chances are the police recover a lot more bikes than they can ever return because they simply have no way of knowing who to give the bike back to. One tool you can use to protect your bike is to register your bike with a service that the police are able to access. Tom's video focuses on Project 529 Garage in Canada, but there are similar services worldwide. There's a list here on wikipedia.
Good luck out there!

Trump-appointed federal judge rejects Tennessee's anti-drag law as too broad, too vague
A federal judge says Tennessee’s first-in-the-nation law designed to place strict limits on drag shows is unconstitutional. In a ruling late Friday, U.S. District Judge Thomas Parker wrote that the law was both “unconstitutionally vague and substantially overbroad” and encouraged “discriminatory enf...
