It was feminist the same way early wonder woman comics were.
Questions about student healthcare
I've been studying in Finland for about a year and haven't had to deal with any medical issues but wanted to get more familiar with it
From my understanding if I have a non emergency I can contact my health center using omaolo and set up an appointment from there.
I'm from a non EU country so my health insurance will pay for most of the medical expenses as long as I pay the Kela health care fee.
Is all of this correct?
I was also wondering if it's the same for dental issues
I also wanted to ask if there's a way I can get an appointment for a general check up. I have a bunch of minor issues that I want to get checked but from what I've heard, that's not really a thing here.
Your individual anecdotes are irrelevant. We can see obesity started to increase worldwide in the 1950s, especially in America.
There are other causes but it was partially due to the rise of more heavily processed foods.
We can, broadly speaking, link obesity to a person's economic status, as having the time to exercise and prepare/purchase healthier foods is a luxury.
We can also link this to the ris of car dependent cities as people walked less.
Countries with more regulation against unhealthy food and more walkable infrastructure have less obesity.
Blaming obesity on laziness is just short-sided.
Then why haven't they gotten fat equally?
Divergent is closer to a hunger games x harry Potter crossover than anything else.
Doesn't that describe pretty much everyone in finance
+1 for notesnook. It's probably my go to example of how good open source projects can be.
He's one of the "good ones"
Is there a European equivalent?
libreOffice is so ugly that every time I use it I get a strong urge to start using Microsoft edge
Signal does seem to have some ties to the CIA
There seems to be a completely different Israeli company called matrix. I can't find any link between the two.
The homeless have already graduated to qr codes in china. I'm pretty sure something similar will happen in the rest of the world.
Didn't fairphone start selling Bluetooth headphones after getting rid of the headphone jack
How to export shared calendar
I have a shared calendar that has all my university classes. Unfortunately it also has entries for cancelled classes that the teacher hasn't bothered to remove.Since the calendar is read-only I can't delete them. I want to copy all the events to another calendar so I can delete the unnecessary ones. I tried exporting the calendar on outlook but it doesn't export any of the events.
What are my options?
First, they came for the gooners ....
The problem is that in order to become a proper reddit replacement Lemmy needs enough users to create niche communities.
There are plenty of active communities related to technology and politics but there is no equivalent to r/batmanarkham or r/letgirlshavefun.
Plus there are plenty of communities that are all but abandoned. We need more people to actually be a proper forum.
I'm sorry Richard, I'm not calling it GNU plus Linux no matter how accurate it is.
I usually manage to destroy my headphones well before the battery starts turning into a problem.
Maybe I shouldn't wear them for 10 hours a day.
That's a fan theory that was disproven multiple times (even though it would make the series more interesting)
“Mickey would want fair pay,”
Are we sure about that?
One of his best friends is related to a billionaire.
At this point Technology Connections can be considered Lemmy's patron youtuber.
Romance books with more relatable male protagonists
I've been feeling really lonely lately so I've been trying to find any romance books to distract me.
However, the only books with male heterosexual protagonists I can find are either sports romances or have "alpha male" protagonists.
Are there any books where the main character is nerdier and more relatable?
