  • You missed the point of the show, they are all unlikable for a reason, and contrary to what you might think, none of them come out on top the way they wanted to. It's a great show that highlights their petty, callous, empty little lives

  • I'd use the terminal more if it had better auto suggestions, and allowed me to treat the text like any normal text editor, instead of having to learn keyboard shortcuts just to basic text manipulation. So far Warp terminal is the best option I've found

  • I'd travel, try new cuisine, and I'd also pick up jobs for short stints to pick up skills, almost like journeyman apprentice, I'd also do some kind of social work, and go back to academia with the intent to actually learn and not just to get a degree and get a job, but to potentially do some actual research and development

  • Yeah looking at my backlog of games I haven't played yet, I now ignore all sales and only buy the games I plan to play immediately and not someday. And I get the free game of the week from Epic but I don't mind never playing any of those

  • This made me think when was the last time I left my home without a phone and I would have to go all the way back before Nokias got popular in my country, shit these days I don't even go to the bathroom without my phone. I hate the feeling of constantly being available to others, I hate pings and phone calls. I think I'll buy a dedicated media player for music and audio books, and just carry a dumb phone with me that can only do calls and messages the next time I want to go out for a stroll.

Has anyone used 3rd party services to apply for jobs on your behalf

Hi, I recently got laid off from my current role, and I don't have a lot of time left to find another job. Find jobs that fit my work experience and applying to them takes a lot of time away from prepping for interviews. So I was thinking of hiring some 3rd party company that applies for jobs on your behalf based on the criteria you provide them. However, I am not familiar with these types of company and don't know which ones are legit and which are just taking your money and wasting it and giving back nothing in return. If anyone knows of a company that they think is legit and doesn't cost way too much, that would be helpful. I've read about some that also customize your resume to fit the role before applying, although I am not sure if this is a good or a bad thing. I live in the US and would prefer US based company but if there's a legit non US company, I am open to looking into them as well.

Why is my entire feed in this Lemmy server nothing but American politics and Reddit bashing

I came to Lemmy cause Reddit went to shit, so I get that people want to bash it and I also understand that most of the users of Lemmy are from the US and the shit show that's happening there right now, but I am absolutely tired of these 2 types of posts being the only thing in my feed, I open this app because I want to learn new interesting things, and maybe see some funny and creative stuff, there's enough negativity and stress in my life and I don't need more of that on my only social media app. How do I filter these topics from my feed and which communities can I join to improve my feed.
