  • I guess ragebait really is what the people want. Its a bit sad but oh well.

  • I dont want to jump to conclusions since techspot is a dogshit outlet for information. Can anyone give me an example of onedrive users losing their files? I checked out a few reddit posts and tech fourm posts and none of the users seem to have actually lost files due to one drive. It seemed that users were getting confused at the onedrive file path overriding their default home path or unhappy that their onedrive hit a storage limit. Like most of the posts are about things that very clearly cant happen with onedrive.

  • I dont get why you'd avoid using onedrive in a work environment.

  • I could live with all my friends using slack

  • Games that dont let you skip the tutorial and all cutscenes. Like I get that most people want to watch the story or read the dialogue but I dont.

Games that are to easy. Its so annoying when a good game spends way to long scaling up the difficulty and you have to play for like 10 hours before the fights stop being completely mindless. Its such a waste of time.

My last pet peeve is for sandbox games and myself. Its so annoying when I have built a thing that has a lot of intergrated parts and then I decide to do a massive redesign of some part. Then I remove the parts and dont finish building the replacement. So next time i log in im immediately hit with an entire system that doesnt work and I have try clean up my own mess.

  • They can lock more features behind nitro. They can charge to run a server. They can add servers you have to pay to join. There is a ton of stuff they can do that would just make things suckier for users on the platform.

  • Dont you think its fair to limit streaming bitrate? Thats a very expensive service and they still provide a good enough version to free users.

  • IRC doesnt fit the usecase at all.

  • fediverse is search engine searchable. They're public webpages being crawled.

  • Discord is technologically lightyears ahead of their competition. Its by far the smoothest large scale chat application out there. The only "dark pattern" is them pushing Nitro and you know what users should buy nitro not free to run a service at that scale.

  • "I wish all my friends would leave discord and go to an alternative chat platform"

The monkey paw curls and all your friends move to MS Teams.

  • The info hygiene here is really bad. I thought people here would be better about finding well sourced informative articles to talk about but its the same news slop that dominates other platforms. This is a discussion forum so posts should have something worth discussing. Spamming the same trump action over and over doesnt create any discussion.

Scrolling through the news community is so depressing there is no comments because everyone is thinking "what do you want me to say its bad its awful"

  • the startrek instance has the best culture IMO. Its just wholesome startrek posting and they always seem to dig up a relevant scene.

  • Disagree, a larger opponent can teep kick you to keep you at range or knock you out as you try and close the distance. But with knife fights no one wins and you very well might do enough damage to send them to hospital but if its knife v knife you're cooked.

  • Banned from reddit and now you're here shitting up alt platforms. All your comments are crying and attacking random users. You're a very miserable person.

  • I can tell by the way you comment you're only here cause you're banned from reddit.

  • I think we have an easier job determining right away if humans are lying about something

I think we are equally bad at determining lying between humans and AI. The people who are getting fooled by AI answers would click the top result on google and get fooled there as well so I dont see it as a massive decrease in info quality even though I can admit it is a decrease.

So it sounds like AI is only really useful for your line wider area of work

There are plenty of jobs where it will be more and less useful but my claim is that its generally still useful for majority of professions/people as a quick way to retrieve info via natural language querying. The results are mostly accurate and can include sources if you ask. Thats good enough for most people and most questions. Sure if you need to dig through docs or reference the exact paper then you can search google and get it yourself.

I dont think Teachers is a good example, teachers use it all the time and seem to really like it, idk what structural engineers do so i cant really comment. But even if the engineer has no use I still say its a good feature because not every feature of an operating system has to be used by 100% of people. Windows screen read is a good feature but I dont use it. The share button is a good feature even if I dont use it. Carplay is a good feature even if I dont use it etc.

  • You must hate the internet. It hosts way more CSAM, hosts way more propaganda and destroys the environment way more than AI.

  • I agree for excel, I think copilot in spreadsheets is using the wrong tool for the job. Its just a bad use of the tech. I also think the price for an enterprise sub is way to expensive for what you get.
