But no one has ever said they use redhat when they use centOS or fedora. That doesnt happen on other distros they just say the distro they use. Obviously its not a big deal but it is cringe and all the responses from people twisting themselves into knots trying to defend it is even more cringe.
Anyways, if a person uses Arch, is switching to Endeavor beneficial? Will it be more convenient or feel restrictive?
That depends, if you can configure arch then no because it will only add things you'll want to remove. If you cant then its nice to have maintainers to configure and maintain your distro for you.
Its far better to have compositing the actually works vs the borked shit xorg has. Forcing every desktop maker to share the terrible stagnant base that was xorg is not the linux way. You've chosen to use an opinionated desktop that doesnt have the features you want. These arent hard to implement, a child was able to implement all those features by themselves in a few years.
Two separate windows means the top bar is wrecked on both screens. Being able to split the pages inside the same window means you keep the top bar functional. It also handles tab groups and hotkeys better.
Take a look at systemd boot then plymouth for a nice splash. I find it to be much better than grub for just simply booting 1 distro quickly. Try systemd-analyze blame to see whats slowing down the boot. Sometimes there are drives that take awhile to mount and speed can be improved by adding them into fstab by UUID.
Those would fit into the camp of Americans that pretend it doesnt exist and they dont like being reminded that it does exist and its an American problem.
Look at your comment for example, its not a tiny amount of fent addicts, your streets are full of them. I went to LA Precovid and it was disgusting people seeing people drugged out living on the streets being treated like its normal. There were 500k people homeless at that time, now there are 800k. You cannot sit here and say thats normal or say its only a tiny amount. Fent deaths have more than doubled since then homelessness is on the rise, drug use is on the rise.
To everyone thinking this is a uniquely mean thing. Its a trend at the moment for people to "fent lean" to mock americans. It doesnt matter if its mean to fent addicts they got bigger problems and dont care about kids on tiktok. It hurts Americans because they KNOW its a problem and they are ashamed and they want people to either pretend it doesnt exist or pretend to care because thats what they're doing(generalization). Its a great attack on Americans IMO.
yeah this is a great example of him not being authorization enough to follow in ccp footsteps. For this to be a proper comparison it would have to be ice murdering 1000s of unarmed protestors not 1.
Why not? For most countries there is 0 point in switching to renewables since the largest polluter in the world is still scaling coal power and currently polluting more than the 2,3,4,5,6 biggest polluters combined. India will go through similar power needs and the world can barely handle a few more years of chinese pollution let alone adding india to the mix. The US is also scaling power using fossil fuels so it looks like any efforts done by the rest of the world will be completely pointless.
Not it hasnt. A small drop in exports to china isnt enough to send the austrialian economy into a tailspin. Chinese coal imports globally dropped only 9% last year (and domestic production increased to meet that deficit for all those thinking china isnt polluting the world). Keep in mind this 9% decrease comes after a record amount of coal imports in 2024.
Trump is following in china's footsteps. His longterm plan will fail because he is not authoritarian enough to retain power. If the CCP were in his shoes they'd have murdered millions of americans to ideologically cleanse the country.
If your standard for being an elitist is that people can be bothered saying/knowing their distro's name then the bar is on the floor and the criticism is worthless. I'm not talking about people who say to their non-linux using friends that they use arch because its simple and recognizable. I'm talking about linux users saying they use arch to other linux users who would know endevour or cachy.
When you’re troubleshooting packages, or whatever, there’s no functional difference between saying “It’s Arch” and “It’s WhateverTheFuck OS (Arch-based)”
This is just wrong. Its terrible etiquette to go on the arch forum and ask for help and not mention that you're on cachyOS? Arch forum etiquette expects users to mention if they used arch install.
You think people go around telling other what distro they’re using. You are elitist. It’s just an OS, bro.
You're trolling, no one can be this dumb. We're in a community dedicated to an OS talking about people have an OS as their hobby/interest and anyone thats been in this community for more than 5 mins would see that telling other people what distro you use is extremely common. You probably think im an eltist because i dont call this place reddit when someone asks what im browsing.
