  • yeah, but this bot is not for the convenience of others.

Fortunately, my idea of this bot has massively changed a few months ago and now I switched from premade "protections" like these to allowing the users of the bot to implement them using Lua.

  • Your browser might be deleting cookies by default on exit.

Btw this community is not for such questions. Check rule 3.

  • Lemmy will get a new UI soon™, something much more modern using DaisyUI.

  • Can't wait for the enshittification of this "decentralized" platform.

People are damaging the reputation of real decentralized fediverse platforms like mastodon and lemmy by adding bluesky into the fediverse even though they aren't even decentralized to begin with. Funny

  • You need to grow some thick skin if you are going to interact with people on the internet.

  • Codeberg, powered by Forgejo. They will also support federation with ActivityPub someday using the ForgeFed extension. So you can just self host Forgejo.

I'm also not sure what you mean by "using 2fa to stalk"

  • Yeah well, that's not doxxing.

  • COCK.LI IS ON RED ALERT.

  • What will happen to my @horsefucker.org email

  • I actually think some URI like fediverse:... might be better. You know, something like the mailto:coolguy@coolmail.com URI that works across all supported email websites or even apps.

  • Yeah, Qwant. Their own index plus bing. Information is still sent to Bing, plus Qwant.

  • Privacy? Ecosia literally forwards your information to Bing. They're also behind Cloudflare.

  • How is linking to freely and publicly available information to their profile links considered doxxing?

  • I agree. I also use Posteo. Their privacy policy and website seem to be one of the most sane ones. They also allow you to use external email clients.

  • I've been using Posteo for a while now. They have the most sane privacy policy out there. They also support IMAP and POP3 ootb for external email clients, unlike some other email providers (e.g. Protonmail).

  • yeah no no, who writes wasm by hand?

it's just that this interoperability with all languages is a bit overkill. I also don't know how I would expose a rust struct that has methods in wasm

  • Seems like Luau will do. Thanks

  • WASM is a bit overkill and is also complicated. I need a simple scripting language that won't stress the users out. As mentioned in my post, I expect them to be absolute beginners.

  • Thanks for this. Seems like I'll go with Lua. I actually did try Rhai before posting this and it did work pretty easily and had a very nice and convenient plugin system. But it had no LSP and on top of that, it wasn't as easy as Lua.

Embedded and sandboxed scripting languages in Rust

I want to allow the users of my project be able to write the driving logic, while I provide the tools. What are some embedded scripting languages in Rust that can be sandboxed and are easy for absolute beginners?

edit: Thanks for all of your answers, I decided to go with lua using mlua

How do I store my websites users' user script's logs?

Hello, I am building a dashboard where users can add their own user scripts. I at least want to keep the last 100 log lines stored somewhere so that the user can check them later.

I thought of using the backend's sqlite database but that would slow down the performance of other querys that are much more high priority.

    Stract: Independent and Open Search

I just found this search engine while searching for something like Kagi.

It seems like it is not a meta search engine, but one with its own index. Awesome.

It has kagi's manual website ranking. It even has so called optics (like Kagi's lenses), for example an optic for the Fediverse lets you search only the fediverse.

    What do you think?

Which is better: Aura or Paru?

I've been using paru. Just wanted to know if aura is, in your opinion, better than paru and why.

I kind of want to self host a lemmy instance. What are the requirements for a single user lemmy instance?
