one aspect I really like about Lemmy is the amount of customization it has with profiles
I really hate how a lot of modern websites tend to just give you the bare minimum, a banner, avatar and short bio, but the largely unlimited text, links, images etc really let you do more with it I miss from other websites. Lemmy in general feels so personal right now and I really like that

i've been looking to try it out! I love my android but it's constantly losing space and getting slower and slower. I'm only at 2 - 6 gigs all the time, and maybe GrapheneOS will fix that.

No doubts about it. With the decentralization it truly just feels like being on forums again. Just needs more content for nicher topics but that's slowly growing, i'm happy here away from the larger internet.
is there a serious, no bullshit alternative for YouTube?
i've grown increasingly, increasingly tired of youtube lately. the exhausting shorts advertised everywhere, overwhelming thumbnails, sensory overload and just generally a really piss poor site. Is there anywhere someone like me can turn to?
I'm not really sure I consider anything retro? Old tech ends up still getting supported, just by indie hobbyists. But outside of that I guess XB360 and below since it's not being produced anymore.
fuck dude I hope not. The best part of Lemmy to me is the fact that it's not as big as the others, and what Lemmy gives me is that same feeling of freedom websites in the 2000s and early 2010s felt like they had.

by far my favorite console of all time since i first got it, i love pretty much everything on it. someone actually ported a game to the gamecube in the modern day (albeit it needs Swiss, a homebrew app to run) and it's just so cool to see that it refuses to die
