Is there any actual standalone AI software?
Is there any computer program with AI capabilities (the generative ones seen in ChatGPT; onlineText-to-Picture generators, etc.) that is actually standalone? i.e. able to run in a fully offline environment.
As far as I understand, the most popular AI technology rn consists of a bunch of matrix algebra, convolutions and parallel processing of many low-precision floating-point numbers, which works because statistics and absurdly huge datasets. So if any such program existed, how would it even have a reasonable storage size if it needs the dataset?

I hate that I understood this
Do it slowly and don't be consistent, sometimes I select the tile with 3 pixels of the thing its supposed to contain, sometimes I leave 2 or 3 tiles that clearly contain the thing, sometimes I just select a tile that doesn't even match. Idk, it always works, I suppose the erratic behavior is what shows them I'm human or smth
Forgive my ignorance, but what is a union supposed to mean/represent in this context? What benefit may the employees get from unionizing? Has this actually ever worked before?
Is there a case where it actually hasn't led to enshitification?
If you liked Inuyasha, check out Dororo
Partially agree, because if purchasing == owning (which it should), then piracy is still != stealing
's alright sweetheart, you can say it, there's no longer a megacorporation to shadow ban or lecture you
Thank you!

Where can I find Suzie Rose's "Don't Rush" (not the remix)?
Long story short, there is a song by Suzie Rose called "Don't Rush (remix)", which is available at most platforms, but I found at this page what appears to be the original version (which explains the remix label in the other one).
However, the original song is nowere to be found, when I try to shazam it, it just returns the remix, it doesn't appear at youtube, spotify nor as a result of any search engine (at least not ddg and google)
Yet, the song that can be listened at from the page I shared sounds 100% like an official record, not any kind of bootleg, and this other site also suggests its existence.
TL;DR: Suzie Rose has a song called "Don't Rush (remix)", where's the original besides here?

Assuming you are talking about Kaiba, yeah... The final episodes butchered a bit of the atmosphere that was built initially.
Great Pretender was a very fun experience, and despite I was getting a bit sick that the story never took a serious turn without being a big bait in the end, I still enjoyed the hell out of it, especially Laurent and Cynthia's backstories.
I mean, the finale seemed to close on Makoto's character pretty decently? As far as I recall, he shouldn't have any more business as a con artist, right? I just hope the new season/movie/special (hopefully not recap) doesn't try to force characters into their old ways 'a la Despicable Me 3; but it is WIT, so I think I trust them to handle the characters well.

I always remember Angel Beats for how much it made me laugh, because besides Yuzuru's train arc, I never really picked up the drama of the series, and the finale was rather forgettable for me.

He didn't say stampede so yes, I'm assuming it's the old one until proven wrong

- Fate/Zero (my current top 1)
-Og Fullmetal Alchemist, because brotherhood was probably already recommended to the entire world.
-Ga-Rei-Zero
-Jin-Rou
-Eiga Daisuki Pompo-san
-Houseki no Kuni
-Aku no Hana (yes, THAT anime adaptation).
-Top wo Nerae! Gunbuster (or og Gurren Lagann, if you will)
-Toradora!
-Kaiba
-Shiki (people should talk more about this and Kaiba, this one has also one of the best Special episodes I've ever seen)
-Higurashi no naku Koro ni (not sotsugou for god's sake).
-Shinsekai Yori.
In general, in a world where the conversations around horror anime almost always shift towards Elfen Lied and Another (where neither is particularly great in my opinion), I think Shiki, Higurashi and Shinsekai Yori also deserve their place in mainstream conversations (more than the first two, I'd even say).

More like underwatched, a score of 8.30 in MAL is more than fair in my opinion, since it also happens to be quite divisibe.

Didn't expect to see Kaiba around here, it definitely should be more discussed, same for Shiki.
Well, I definitely need to get some sleep right now, read sex and dead loved ones too close and my mind skipped a word... That was not fun to think of.

Why can't I login into lemmy.dbzer0.com? (Read desc.)
I submitted my sign-up request to dbzer0 like two months ago already, I don't know if it's been accepted already, but I'm reasonably assuming it hasn't since:
- I haven't received any notification/email regarding it.
- I can't login yet.
What puts me in doubt is precisely the fact that I haven't received any email, whether it is a rejection or admittance, and that when I try to log in, clicking the button doesn't spit any message, it just shows a quick load animation and doesn't do anything else.
I can't submit another request with my current email because it already appears as registered. What can I do?
I mean yeah, that's what the post was for in the first place lol
Sure! Would love to see it.
I know of pareidolia, actually a few of these I got them from r/pareidolia (when reddit wasnt as shitty), but looking up "trollface pareidolia" wouldn't get me any significant source for them.
Guess I'll have to go with generative AI
Neither does lemmy, here (and in other instances) there's plenty of communities for news, and with better control of misinformation.

Want to pick up Cutey Honey, what order should I follow?
So yeah, og Cutey Honey from the 70s-to-80s-ish has been in my list for a while, and recently I came across its op theme, which I thought was pretty good and got me interested in picking it up later, but I found there are quite a few entries:
Shin Cutey Honey: A sequel according to myanimelist, aired around 1994
Cutey Honey F: An alternative version aired in 1997
Re:Cutey Honey: Another alternative version aired in 2004
Cutey Honey Flash Movie: heh
Of course for now I want to start with the og series, but I'm interested in picking up each of these entries, so, what order do you suggest me to do so?

How do you call a word that is so rudimentary that it can't be defined without being redundant?
I think axiom should fit, but according to its official definition, an axiom is a statement that is taken to be true, and as far as I know, a word can't make an statement by its own.

If my deodorant doesn't work, should I use it more often or switch the brand?

Are there any lemmy instances that work as a single "subreddit"?
And which of them are a better alternative than subscribing to a specific community here at lemmy.world?
