I'm a lot of things, but not a Velociraptor

  • I do understand that. But I hate hypocrisy. Just say that you buy it because you want to show how rich you are, don't try to sell me the "superior quality of the gears make them better" bullshit.

Just be honest and say it clear: "I buy it because it's expensive". It's fine. Except it's not, because you are embarrassed to admit you only want to brag about money and instead try to lie others (and yourself) about the reason why you buy it.

  • Every single italian who watched that scene took offense at how they looked at Tina. They are not welcome here.

  • I've worked for a touristic business where I live and I had to talk to many usians a day.

I learned there are two types of usians:

    1. Those who come to the country to enjoy it; and they are usually cool people with whom you can have a great time.
    2. Those who come to the country to be served. And they are extremely insufferable assholes to whom I only wish an intestinal bug that lets them stuck in the bathroom for the whole holiday.

Other than that, it was almost impossible to tell their political compass.

  • Exactly my thoughts on it. There are things that are expensive just because they are made so rich people can show off. Is there a point on having diamonds on a watch? No, it doesn't make it better, just more expensive so you can show others how much money you have.

Same thing witd loud cars, they are made just so the owner can be the center of attention for a split second. I kinda feel bad for those idiots thinking they need to show off the money they have. It has to be one hell of an inferiority complex if you need to tell everybody how rich you are every moment of your life.

  • I got into a discussion some weeks ago about extremely expensive watches. I think they are stupid and just a "look at me, I'm rich" item. But, apparenty, I know jackshit about it because it's all about the quality of the materials used and "the feel". Seems a 10k watch is extremely better than a normal watch and I'm just too dumb to understand it because I don't know how better it is when a watch uses precious metals in its gears instead of less-precious metals. This, said by a wage slave, by the way.

Suffice to say I realized it was pointless to go on with the discussion and I let it die after their "explanation" on why I was being dumb.

  • It's about the compensation theory. The bigger/louder the car/bike, the bigger the need to compensate for something small they have.

People needing to be heard when they drive with their car/bike are one of the most pathetic kind of drivers. You have to be a special kind of insecure baby to need others to look at you when you drive by.

  • There is an issue in autistic individuals with textures. And it's an issue you can't really understand if you don't suffer it. Yeah, I dress by texture rather than fashion. And those tags are hellish to me and many other autistic people in ways that only them understand.

It's kinda concerning and pretty annoying when some people start with the "this is a normal reaction, not an autistic thing".

  • One of the series that has died for me over the course of the years. From the bullshit exclusivity deals, to the "first on console" assholery, they killed the saga for me. That without mentioning the greed and idiocy surrounding 7 remake.

The only thing I still love from final fantasy it's Soken's music, but the series is going downhill really fast for me.

  • It can be worse if it's a family member or a close person that you know. Especially if they are privileged:

"It's a shame you don't have kids, I can see you love them!"

Why yes, of course! But you see? Where the fuck should I grow them? Under a bridge? Living in poverty? It's rich, coming from you who got a house for free and don't have to worry about a mortgage or a rent!

Seriously, never, EVER, bring that topic on someone, especially if you know them well. It's not nice.

  • If you somehow manage to put that shit on me, you better kill me afterwards. Because if I take it off, you're going to deal with an overloaded velocirap human that's going to show you the meaning of overcharged anger.

  • I discovered it when I was an adult. But in my case it was the opposite, it was a "oh... so I wasn't the bad guy, I was just being weird to them and they were being dicks about it".

  • Look at that! The free market regulating itself without any intervention from the government! Just what the republicans love most, right?

  • PREGANTE!

  • Pergenat?

  • Italian has a few that might be hard to translate:

Fottesega: "fucks a handjob/saw"? This one I reckon might be really difficult to translate but "fotte" means "fucks" (the verb, not the noun), and "sega" is both a saw and a handjob so it's anyone's guess how to translate it.

We also have "m'importa 'na sega" or "I care a handjob/saw". This is easier to translate, and I love hearing it in Tuscany accent, top notch.

Also, Spanish has some other: You can change the cucumber with a pepper bell (pimiento) and works the same.

There's also "Me importa tres cojones" or "I care three balls". It's specifically three, because, you see? The word "cojones" is probably the one with most meanings in our language, it has to be three because it's the number for showing an extremely low value thing.

  • Meanwhile, I can go to a certain website, get the gba rom and even a romhack adding tons of QOL features and new stuff.

Then, thanks to emulators, I can play it on any device, have cloud saves if I want, online multiplayer for free, in any language I like and for only $0.00

But don't worry, research will keep happening, just not at home for you.
