Dumb question: if this becomes countrywide, can we do it ourselves? Like, add fluoride and what have you to our tap water?

I didn't think of that. The name is pretty generic.

I'll call when they reopen. Don't ask me why I didn't think of that.

How to get a package to the right owner?
So, went to get my mail, saw a package. I was already expecting one, so blah, blah, blah, I opened it and quickly realized it wasn't my package. It's a tirara, as well as a bracelet. I looked up the brand and, thankfully, they're not diamonds or anything crazy, but they range from $150 to almost $700, either scale being expensive to me. And a tirara has to be an event, which makes it even worse. I checked for an order slip to reference the number, but it's only the tiara. I don't recognize the name, and I've been at this address for a few years. Do I just return to sender and hope for the best? Community post?

Only had two places in my area (heavy POC area so... Awkward), but I've left my "review." I've never been to either place, but at least I know who they are so I can keep avoiding.

Ohhh. Shame on me for not even looking it up.

Seems like some JRPG. Your grandpa died, and you guys loved playing chess, so he leaves you his super special set that he never let you touch. One night, you hear the pieces clatter and shake. You open the box... Nothing. You turn to go back to bed, when it starts again, accompanied by an otherworldly glow. You open the box again and the pieces are set. You feel completed to move a piece and suddenly you're in the spirit world, and your grandfather has a message: He wasn't just a hobbyist, he, and therefore you, come from a long line of chess shamans. Whenever the chess board glows, they must play against spirits that wish to barter for enter our reality. If there is no shaman, there is no one to stop the flow of spirits in this world. With dwindling interest in chess, many spirits enter without a challenger.
So, next summer, join Takeno as he and his adorable sidekick, Pawny, the spirit of pawns, train and battle spirits across Japan. Earn power ups, work on your strategy until you can close the doorway once and for all by defeating the one who started this spiritual tournament all those eons ago; The Chess Guardian, Guardian of the chess.
Bobby Fischer quivers before him, but will you?
$69.99 for the standard addition Gambit of the God's©, $89.99 for the special edition with custom chest board, and $120.99 for the unholy bundle with access to future DCL: Takeno goes West: Takeno's World Tour.

Ninja Sex Party's cover of "The Last Unicorn." I think the original is lovely, but their version just clicks with me.
Shrek 2's version of "I need a hero."

An Until Dawn movie? The game was already heavily inspired by horror films, but isn't the main point the choices you make? Might as well juet slap a let's play up there imo.

I make concoctions. I like ginger tea with either ginger honey crystals or another Chai tea bag, a bit of creamer and sugar. I don't like coffee, but I was really into dunkachinos which I found out was just coffee and chocolate. So I do espresso and hot chocolate. I also put ginger in that. Fruit teas are sugar only.

Insurance:
For this "industry," it varies wildly by department and position. The lower your are (entry level, etc.) the worse it's going to be. People are always in accidents, so you'll be working customer service on nightmare mode. No real meetings, maybe a "huddle," and then back to work.
I've moved up slightly and it is night and day. I get work/claims, but I'm usually done by noon, and that's with me fucking around (on my phone, messing with the cat, chores, etc.). The projects are PowerPoints and excel sheets in my area, which are simple. Since I'm at home, when I'm done, I usually just keep myself online and work on crafts. If I'm extra bold, I'll take the laptop downstairs and play a game. The more specialized you get, the less work you have.

So if I call Trump a slur in AZ, stab him, and run off that's cool, right?
Snakes

I'm a bit wary of the 2011 stat for male victims with male perpetrators. Not that I don't believe women make up a significant number of abusers, nor that it should be ignored, but the idea that men on men assault is that low seems out of place with other factors, like child abuse cases, prison/military cases, same sex couples/assault, or even medical facility cases. If we take the 40% of rapists are women, and the remaining 60% are men, I honestly can't imagine that only a fraction of those men hurt other men. Enough to out weight female perpetrators? I don't think so, at least not from any statistics I'm seeing (most recent I found was about 12% for male child abuse victims specifically, which is still quite "low" since that would leave the remaining 88% perpetrators as female(or other?) Not to mention men are less likely to report rape, let alone penatrative rape (thanks society). I don't know if there's any number that would make me go "Oh, it's not that bad," but I don't think men on men violence is as uncommon.
But numbers are numbers. Probably just my own bias trying to work around it 🤷🏿♀️
Snakes

There's a part where they explain the 34% is based off of all male victims, assuming that none of the abusers were male. They're trying to say that even their estimate of 34% is likely an over estimate of how many women are abusing people.
Not that that means men aren't getting abused or what have you, but I don't think it was a spin job. Just a breakdown of the numbers.

This dude was awful to women throughout his career. He's made disgusting remarks about and to women, often.
It was on Stern's radio show that Trump confessed to walking in on women in the changing rooms at the Miss Universe pageant, per resurfaced clips published by CNN. He also joked, "As the owner of the pageant, it's your obligation [to sleep with contestants]." Not to be outdone, Stern told Trump that his daughter was a "piece of a**," and the two laughed over their agreement that 35 is, for women, "check-out time."
Oh, wow, so progressive. 🙄

Honestly, I think because it's comfortable. Andrew Tate and the like say that there is nothing wrong with you and it's society/women's fault. It doesn't challenge anything, not even the harmful standards for men (ex: High value = certain look/body, status, income, etc.). Dating has gotten harder for men. Women have a lot more options and choices, and I don't just mean in which man to marry, but even if they will marry at all. That means men have to offer more than just being the provider, as many women also have to work. And I don't think we set men up to be good partners. Providers? Sure. But to be caring, empathetic, loving and loved members of society? I don't think so.
I think women need to be taken out of the equation all together when it comes to the male lonilness epidemic because that seems to cause the spiral. If it was focused on how men could foster good relationships, in general, I think it would be better. Focus on how to join/find/form social clubs, make it okay to talk to the boys about how you're feeling, make it okay for them to need help. A lot of articles seems to boil down to more men are single, but I think it should be more of why don't men have friends? If men are single, that means there are single women out there as well, but they don't inspire these posts because women are allowed to foster platonic, deep relationships and we kind of tell me you either get a spouse for that or you just have to deal with it.

I switched companies to avoid RTO. I happened to move closer to my mom during this time and not a month later they released Hybrid. Thank God I was out of range, but people were pissed. Funny enough, my company offered full WFH as long as metrics were being met, so there were some people who hadn't been to the office in years that were now told to go. And the limit was "50 miles as the crow flies," so people were going to have nice commutes. 🙃
I've had meetings where literally only one person is in the office (and it'll be empty behind them), while the entire rest of the team is remote. How can you tell people hybrid is necessary when the rest of their team is at home? We had people who were just hired, who came to my company specifically for the remote work, that had the rug pulled from out of them. When they complained, they were just told they agreed to work for the company under their terms and the terms had changed. Every single survey since then says the same thing: We what WFH.

That actually sounds really nice. I'll try it even if she doesn't want to.

Didn't have anything to add, just that this was a nice read.

What is this called?

I've tried reverse lookup and it just keeps sending me to Pinterest, so pardon the post.
Does anyone know what this is called and/or the shape? Like, is this one long rectangle, a ruana, etc.? I really like it but can't seem to find one that's this big. I either want to buy it or possibly make it, but I can't figure out what the shape is.

Anyone know where this is from?

I randomly got this in the mail. It's seems to be a collection of like, snippets and poems and what have you. Not mad at it, just curious.
Posting another photo of the inside.

Where do people dance?
I was scrolling and saw this video of people dancing, showing different moves throughout the years, including recent ones. I know people "dance," like, generally move to a beat, but, like, having moves and stuff, where do you do that? Is the idea to ease the moves into your own dance "repertoire?" As in, do you expect to see people milly rock, like unprompted?

Could Linux save my laptop?
This past weekend, my laptop decided it's had enough and has given me the blue screen of death. I've put it in recovery mode, tried to reinstall windows, the works, and it refuses. I have no idea why. I was logged on, looking something up, and it went kaput. I wasn't downloading anything, the computer was in it's sleeve prior, not too wet, cold, hot, etc. Battery is fine, the laptop it's self is maybe two years old.
My understanding is that Linux is a kind of system that you download the components to a USB or what not and then install it on your machine. Is that something I could do in this case? Or do I need to take it somewhere?
Edit: it seems I may have to check if it's a hardware problem. The error code is Bad_system_config_info, but it changed to something else at one point but I didn't write that one down. :(

Would it be weird if I took something my neighbor put out for trash?
They put out this shelf and I want it, but I don't want to seem strange? It would make a nice plant shelf, but it's not something I can scurry away with, so people would see me while I carried it. Is that a bad thing to do?
EDIT: Never mind. Someone beat me to it. 😭

Very Handsome

I took this picture through my mosquito netting and I thought it turned out neat.

Breaking news! My cat is officially off her diet!

When I adopted her she was 21 pounds and I had to use a small dog carrier. She's now at a healthy 13 (she's long).
Another photo of her from her chonk days:

Her first time seeing snow.

I adopted her when I was in the south west and she came with me to the east coat. That blur in the corner is my fat finger trying to take a picture.

Good PS5 controller?
I know it's a long shot, but are there any controllers that people could recommend? Both of my controllers went. One has a severe drift and the other one has unresponsive buttons (and I had gotten that one to deal with the drift of the first).
I was wondering if anyone knew of any sturdier brands?

Mother, I hunger.

She'll stand there and scream until I get her food. 🙃
