Moderator feed similar to Lemmy.
Lemmy have Moderator feed which only show post from community in which you mod.
support PieFed
With Lemm.ee shutting down at the end of the month, many are searching for a new instance to join.
A Lemmy alternative that is also uses the ActivityPub protocol is PieFed: https://join.piefed.social/
I'm (obviously) trying it out and it seems great so far but app support is low (only Interstellar right now).
gif image animation in profiles and banners
Currently the profile and banner images that are gifs don't animate/loop in piefed this is different compared to lemmy and mbin. This is also true for other formats like animated jxl, webp and avif, etc. It would also be great if there was an option to enable/disable this behaviour in the settings or in low bandwidth mode.
- Disable display of post/comment score
Hello! TL;DR for the unnecessary long background info I just typed up then deleted:
- I very recently moved to Lemm.ee after being addicted to Reddit and its karma system for the last decade. 2 days after I started posting, the notice that .ee would be shutting down was sent out.
- Lemm.ee (and I believe, Lemmy itself) allows the hiding of the post/comment score
- Piefed doesn't appear to offer that.
- I am interested in self-hosting Piefed, hence my interest in this instead of simply moving my account to a Lemmy instance
I would still like to be able to upvote/downvote posts and comments to do my part in letting the sorting algorithm do its thing, but being able to hide the number on all posts/comments (especially my own) would be very helpful for people like me who are easily addicted to number-go-up mechanics (don't talk to me about the hours i have in Balatro)
In my effort to not just blindly suggest things without at least doing a bit of research myself,
Support for Piefed instances
Piefed is another instance type that is growing in popularity, and a few instances are now turning on the API. As such, apps are also implementing support.
It would be great if Boost would support it too. Hopefully the extra development overhead isn't too bad.

The page for developers:

The API for third-party apps (frontends, bots, etc) is 95% the same as the Lemmy API.

Adjustable Animation Speed on Swipe to Close Image Viewer
Might be a minor thing, but for me it feels clunky now hitting the back button is instant but the swipe to close the image viewer has some kind of animation lag. I think just being able to toggle it to have the same transition (or lack thereof) as hitting the back button would be great.
Show deleted comment
It would be neat to have a feature where you can show a deleted comment's content, as well as who deleted it, by fetching it in the modlogs, if available.
Video upload support
Most instances now support video upload.
Swipe Up/Down on sort icon to change selection
Like how you swap between different Google accounts when on mobile.
Filter feed by time
Iโd like to limit my feed to a rolling 1 week window so that I donโt run into the same old posts at the โendโ of my feed.
I browse my feed by โnewโ and usually scroll until Iโm caught up. I notice that Iโm caught up once the posts are a week old.
Instead of reading older posts, Iโd love to just have a hard end to the feed where there are no more posts.
Not sure if this makes sense? Or if this is the correct channel for feature requests.

"Tag as" for communities (or instances?)
Originally, I just wanted to request tagging specific instances as NSFW. This would be helpful for posters on specific instances that do not always tag posts as NSFW but still should get caught by our NSFW preferences.
NSFW isn't always porn so the NSFW filter catches a bit much, sometimes. Excluding specific communities from the NSFW filter is an option, but that gave me yet another idea.
Expanding on this idea, it would be cool to start categorizing communities with tags, like "sports" or "news", "world news" or something arbitrary like "neat".
This would allow filtering by what kinds of content I want to view at any given time, in theory. Hell, we could even start building a master list to share for community categories in GitHub or something like that.
Comment in locked posts as admin/mod
Lemmy version 0.19.4 added the ability for admins and mods to comment in locked posts. This is handy sometimes.
Arctic search tool for Mbin and Piefed equivalent to Lemmy Explorer
While I'm saving most of my feature requests for after I'm done bug hunting, I thought that extending the same level of searchability to Mbin and Piefed communities would increase the number of communities users have easy access to, along with making it more likely that those communities get new Lemmy users to join.
Of the two, I'd guess that Mbin would be the easier one to implement currently, given that Lemmy Explorer on lemmyverse.net indexes them in a similar manner to Lemmy communities.
If the functionality were implemented, ideally the Mbin and Piefed communities would be searchable via the current Lemmy Explorer tool, perhaps with a filter option to toggle the listing of communities from any of the three services on or off.
Add sort by date option to Lemmy Explorer
Not sure if it's possible with instances too, or just communities, but it'd be useful to be able to sort the Lemmy Explorer list by creation date.
Having widdled down my unblocked community count to just below 1,000, I can tell when there's new communities for me to review for keeping or blocking by the community count, but would find an option to sort by date founded useful for speeding up the process of finding new ones.
Another use case would be to have an easy means of finding recently-established communities to support and promote across Lemmy.
The ability to use other fonts (such as user installed fonts)
Hey there! How much work would it be to add the ability to select a font to use for Arctic thatโs installed on the device? For instance, I use the Atkinson Hyperlegible Next font for everything that I possibly can (it works wonders for my dyslexia).
ignore replies to comments and posts
I would love a feature that allows me to ignore new replies to a post or comment I make. Apollo had this feature for Reddit and I found it really helpful to not get notifications to threads I wasn't interested in continuing for whatever reason (maybe it was getting a lot of off topic replies, or someone was arguing and I didn't want to continue to engage, etc.). Essentially it would just disable notifications from a chosen post, ideally triggered as an option in the three dot overflow menu on that post/comment.
Customizable upvote/downvote colors
[Edit] Per the comment below, the suggested feature is already possible via the custom theme creator (Appearance Settings > App Theme).
For anyone else looking to replicate Reddit's arrow colors, upvote on mobile is #ff4500, while downvote is #7193ff. Now that I'm trying it, I think I actually prefer the default due to the subtler contrast of the blue, but being able to change it is definitely a helpful option to have.
Something that I think has been missing from most Lemmy UIs is distinct upvote and downvote colors, versus the red upvotes and blue downvotes present on the standard Reddit interface.
Although I personally wouldn't feel the need to customize my upvote/downvote colors beyond that, given that others might want colors other than red and blue, I think implementing such a feature with an assortment of default colors customizable for each button would maximize its usefulness. Implementing it with a color wheel or a hex color input option would maximize options even
Customizable gestures for Lemmy Explorer actions
While I don't make use of the gesture functionality in my regular usage of Lemmy, my extensive usage of Lemmy Explorer made me think that swipe actions would be useful there too, whether it be to block communities as I typically use the list for, or subscribe or favorite communities for those who make frequent use of those functions.
Seeing today that Lemmy Explorer indeed has gestures implemented for it, my revised suggestion is that these gestures be mappable as is the case for other feeds in the app, as to make the gestures work from the left or right and have the option of disabling unused gesture actions.
Tesserect Added to the List of Support Frontends After Server Upgrade
I find the frontend very useful as it has the media bias check indicator on shared articles and allows you to see how many elements of each category exists in the Lemmy search UI. Not to mention the troll buster feature where egregious trolls can be banned from all the moderated communities of a user.
View Community List From Instance Detail Tab
It would be helpful if we could view a list of communities from instance detail tab, not a local view of threads like when you look at an instance from a guest account, but a list like when you search.
