3 Million copies sold of Lies of P!

To celebrate the milestone, publisher Neowiz is rewarding the staff of developer Round8 Studio, as well as Neowiz’s own Lies of P development team, with a number of bonuses.

All staff will receive a launch bonus of 10 million South Korean won ($7,300) earlier than scheduled, as well as two weeks of paid vacation (on top of South Korea’s mandatory 15 days of paid vacation).

Every member of the Round8 development team will also get a Nintendo Switch 2 console as a reward for hitting the sales milestone.

Very happy for their success - they deserve it

Lies of P Update 1.009 Brings Combat Adjustments, Overture DLC Access Changes

Most notable to me:

Starting from your second playthrough, you can access the Lies of P: Overture DLC from Chapter 5 at the “Path of the Pilgrim.”

Combat Balance Adjustments:

  • Reduced monster difficulty in repeat playthroughs.
  • Adjusted stats for certain field monsters in the first playthrough of Lies of P: Overture

Seems like there were more people like me who've felt that the DLC is a little overtuned on repeat playthroughs. I'll have to check again how it is now on Legendary Stalker.

The First Berserker: Khazan - Patch Notes – June 16 - Steam News

I just love that they keep pumping out updates for the game. Sure, it's only 3 months old now, so regular update should be expected, but not to such an extent. Lots of QoL, balancing, new features etc. Very happy with the game

Nioh 3 announced for PS5, limited-time demo available today

In Nioh 3, the protagonist is a young warrior poised to become the next Shogun. Why is he dedicated to battling against yokai? We’ll save those details for another day, but what we can tell you today is as the battles unfold, players will now be able to fight using two distinct combat styles: Samurai and Ninja.

The Samurai style provides a gameplay experience similar to previous Nioh titles. New actions such as Arts Proficiency, which enhances the power of martial arts, and Deflect, which allows players to block enemy attacks at the last moment have been added, helping create a series of intense and deadly face-to-face confrontations.

Meanwhile, the Ninja style excels in quick movements like dodging and aerial actions, giving ninjas the advantage of being able to attack from outside of the enemy’s range by utilizing a variety of “Ninjitsu” techniques according to the situation on the battlefield.

Edit: you can only download the demo if you have at least PS+ essential. what a r

Elden Ring Nightreign’s Massive Steam Launch Tarnished by 'Mixed' User Reviews Over Lack of Duos Co-Op, Voice Chat

cross-posted from: https://lemm.ee/post/65396784

People should've known these things going into it but hopefully the bad reviews should push fromsoftware to make the duo mode quicker.

FromSoftware’s co-op spin-off saw an incredible 313,593 peak concurrent users on Steam overnight, enough to make Elden Ring Nightreign one of the most-played games on Valve’s platform.

But it also came with a number of negative reviews (67% of the reviews are positive so far), most of which point out Elden Ring Nightreign’s lack of duos, or two-player co-op, and voice chat.

As explained in IGN's Elden Ring Nightreign review: "Let’s get the most important caveat out of the way first: if you are hoping to tackle Nightreign entirely solo, and are anything less than a hardcore Elden Ring player that actively seeks out ways to make that already difficult game even more challenging, Nightreign isn’t for you. Yes, there is technically a single-player option, but it is so poorly balanced that I would

Lies of P’s expansion will allow players to replay old bosses, and introduces a boss rush mode | VGC

Players will be able to progress through five tiers of difficulty. Initially, the bosses can be played on tiers 1, 2, and 3, with tiers 4 and 5 only being unlocked when a player completes the previous level. Bosses in the Battle Memories mode will also have unique stats that change based on the tier.

Lies of P: Overture will also introduce Death March, a new mode that will see players attempt to take down as many bosses as they can using a limited pool of health and items. There will be bespoke rewards for both of these modes. However, these haven’t yet been announced.

“Lies of P’s new difficulty system is perhaps the most interesting addition of the whole package, and one that has the potential to bring a new audience to a beloved genre. At the same time, the harder difficulty levels of the new Battle Memories mode will give players a chance to sharpen their skills before the full sequel to the game arrives.”

I welcome the addition of difficulty settings quite a bit. Who am I

The First Berserker: Khazan missed sales targets, but Nexon says the Soulslike RPG was still a success because it got us to care about the 20-year-old action series it wants to globalize

Sometimes, a company wants critical acclaim – other times some developers just want to have fun. In the case of action RPG The First Berserker: Khazan, the game helped its publisher Nexon set the stage for a planned global IP rollout of Dungeon & Fighter, the game Khazan is based on.

In a new earnings call, Nexon shared some valuable insights into the company's strategy around Khazan. It reads: "The game made its global debut on March 28 with strong ratings from both players and critics. While Q1 revenue was below our outlook, the game achieved our objective as a strategic first step in a multi-year plan to introduce Dungeon & Fighter IP to a global audience."

If you're also unaware of it, it's a multiplayer beat 'em up known as Dungeon Fighter Online in the West, and it's grossed billions of dollars since its release in 2005.

That's not all, though. Khazan has "set a stage for two new titles – Project OVERKILL and Dungeon&Fighter: ARAD – expected by 2027." Its publisher Ten

Dark Souls 3 helps explain the papal conclave to Spanish TV viewers, who may be wondering where the cardinals got all those fireballs

Absolute cinema 🙏🏻

As the 2025 papal conclave goes on in the Sistine Chapel following the death of Pope Francis on April 21, a news channel in Spain has used Dark Souls 3 footage to illustrate what could be going on.

Spanish TV channel Cuatro aired a segment about the ongoing conclave, which was spotted by PC Gamer. While we can't get cameras into the chapel for the proceedings, they used footage from Dark Souls 3's Pontiff Sulyvahn boss fight with the player donning the Pope-like Archdeacon armor. While we can't confirm that papal candidates are in there throwing fireballs at each other, we can't deconfirm it either, can we? (Think about it, all the smoke…) Plus Pope Benedict's 'Pope Emeritus' title totally sounds like an RPG boss fight.

Lords of the Fallen 2 Enters Full Development as CI Games Reveals New Details - IGN (Oct '24)

Eurogamer spotted the tidbits in CI Games' latest financial report, where the publisher revealed Lords of the Fallen 2 (for lack of an official name) will have a "more commercial" art style and narrative, suggesting it wants the game to have more mainstream appeal.

CI Games also promised gameplay improvements, more game mode options, and full "shared-progression" co-op alongside the "core" single-player campaign, all developed with "elevated production values" fueled by Unreal Engine 5.

The publisher confirmed it had received a "major investment" from Epic Games for PC exclusivity on the Epic Games Store, which means Lords of the Fallen 2 will not initially launch on Steam.
