  • Non voters are 20% Republican and 22% Democrat. The problem isn't turnout - it's that Americans are completely brainwashed.

  • he exposed that under a determined enough man with enough popular support behind him

Well good news, he's not actually that popular. I'm baffled that he's still got an aggregate 47% approval rating, but even faux news' poll has him down to 44% and he was only above 50% in poling for less than a 2 weeks after he came into office.

And that's all before the most recent news about the medicare/medicaid slashing. And ahead of the coming wave of layoffs due to the economy slowing down. The policies he's trying to enact are going to (slowly) erode what support he still has as his base realizes just how fucked they are.

  • Wasn't aware Chump ever demonstrated such a pretense...

He left Season 1 feeling he'd left money on the table and is determined in Season 2 not to make that same "mistake"...

GOP congressman calls for ‘nuking’ Gaza like US did to Japan

Freshman GOP Rep. Randy Fine calls for “nuking” Gaza in an interview on Fox News.

“The fact of the matter is the Palestinian cause is an evil one,” he says, following last night’s deadly shooting of two Israeli embassy staffers who were outside the Capitol Jewish Museum in Washington where an American Jewish Committee event was being held.

“The only end of the conflict [in Gaza] is complete and total surrender by those who support Muslim terror,” Fine says.

“In world war two, we did not negotiate a surrender with the Nazis. We did not negotiate a surrender with the Japanese. We nuked the Japanese twice in order to get unconditional surrender,” he says. “That needs to be the same here. There is something deeply, deeply wrong with this culture, and it needs to be defeated.”

  • We already have a basic problem
Governance ideally is people of good intentions coming together to make things better
    Conservatives don't have good intentions

    Prosecutors control law enforcement
Courts have no way to enforce their rulings

  • Reposting my comment from another thread.

Trump's Golden Dome idea is impossible. The tech and resources to defend even the contiguous 48 states against even North Korea's level of ICBM capabilities does not exist.

The truth is that the whole program is intended to pour federal money into the hands of the wealthy. In fact, Musk already has the lead in providing the system as of this April 17th article from Reuters. And the icing on the cake is this.

In an unusual twist, SpaceX has proposed setting up its role in Golden Dome as a "subscription service" in which the government would pay for access to the technology, rather than own the system outright.

  • I don't think he cares about filling the Treasury, unless you mean his personal bank account.

He sees tariffs as something other countries don't like. So if he uses the tool, he makes other countries come to him to make deals. These deals give him a chance to be bribed. That's all there is to it. And he's been successful since his family fortune has been increasing by $1,000,000,000/month since he took office. And crypto is the perfect method to enable this corruption.

Rep. Randy Fine Implies Gaza Should Be ‘Nuked’ Like Japan After DC Shooting

On Thursday, Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) appeared to suggest that Gaza should be “nuked” like Japan was during World War II in response to the shooting in Washington DC that killed two Israeli embassy staffers.

The congressman was asked [in an interview on Fox News if the shooting should change the course of Israel’s onslaught on Gaza. “Well, I think it speaks to the importance of the only end of the conflict is the complete and total surrender by those who support Muslim terror,” Fine replied.

“In World War II, we did not negotiate a surrender with the Nazis, we did not negotiate a surrender with the Japanese. We nuked the Japanese twice in order to get unconditional surrender, that needs to be the same here,” Fine added.

Trump’s tax bill to cost 830,000 jobs and drive up bills and pollution emissions, experts warn | Bill will unleash millions more tonnes of planet-heating pollution and couldn’t come at a worse time

It can in theory be stopped if Senators vote against it. Making that happen means having Senators fear that constituents will vote them out and seek their prosecution. If you live in the US, calling your senators a call and letting them know how mad you are at the Republican agenda might just help a little.

Fury as Republicans go ‘nuclear’ in fight over California car emissions | Newsom issues rallying cry as GOP-controlled Senate moves ahead with plan to revoke key environmental rule

In particular, they're ignoring the Senate rules requiring a supermajority vote, and planning to claim they've taken away California's ability to regulate tailpipe pollution with a mere majority.

If you're an American, it's worth calling your senators and asking them to vote to preserve California's ability to impose stricter pollution controls — much of the country has historically adopted California's rules.

White House officials wanted to put federal workers ‘in trauma.’ It’s working. Federal workers describe struggling with panic attacks, depression, suicidal thoughts.

If the link is borking, you can check it out in the original link - the archived link is with no paywall while Washington Post limits how many you can read for free (archive.org does not archive Washington Post)

For this story, Washington Post reporters interviewed more than 30 current and former federal employees. To confirm those workers’ stories, they reviewed agency badge credentials, layoff notices and internal agency emails. Sources who spoke to The Post anonymously did so to avoid retribution from their agency or the Trump administration.

Donald Trump argued that a GOP budget bill should help only Republican states instead of benefiting Democratic governors.

"We're going to make a couple of tweaks," Trump said of his "one big beautiful bill" during a Tuesday trip to Capitol Hill. "I mean, we don't want to benefit Democrat governors, although I would do that if it made it better, but they don't know what they're doing."

"We want to help all the states, but we have governors that are from the Democrat [sic] party, let's say New York, Illinois, big ones, and let's say Gavin 'Newscum,' who's done a horrible job in California."

Former President Joe Biden was diagnosed with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer, according to a statement from his personal office Sunday, and it has spread to his bones.

“Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms. On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone,” the statement said.

New standards for Oklahoma high school students promote misinformation about the 2020 election

Leaders in the Republican-led Oklahoma Legislature introduced a resolution to reject the standards, but there wasn’t enough GOP support to pass it.

DOGE tried assigning a team to the Government Accountability Office. They refused

DOGE is continuing its attempts to expand its reach beyond executive branch agencies, this time seeking to embed in an independent legislative watchdog that finds waste, fraud and abuse in the government.

But the U.S. Government Accountability Office, a legislative branch entity that helps audit government spending and suggest ways to make it more efficient, rejected that request on Friday by noting that GAO is not subject to presidential executive orders.

The request to GAO had cited President Trump's Jan. 20 executive order creating DOGE, which, despite its name, is not a formal agency.

DOGE's request to GAO and its response was first reported by NOTUS.
