I quit hockey

As an American, I was disgusted with the team's embrace of Trump and his administration as well as the players' responses to fan reactions on social media. Them laughing off the joke about the women's team can be somewhat understood especially after Knight bailed them out.

This president is in the midst of kidnapping Americans off the street in cities across the country. His relationship with Epstein are widespread and disturbing. He has paid off a pornstar to sleep with him.

As a player, why would you want to be anywhere near this individual?

Yes, you could say that in the heat of their celebration they were just enjoying the vibes of their historic win. But outside of this tournament, it is obvious hockey players truly are in a bubble. A bubble of wealthy, white jocks that is. Over the last few years, I became disappointed with the bland, monoculture that is the NHL and also the popularity of MAGA among its players.

I could not be more different from the average NHLer. Why should I cheer on rich, white, racist boys that have the maturity and education of a middle schooler?

It's not just the players. The league is also a part of this mindset especially after they clamped down on pride events. Also, management. Caps' owner Ted Leonsis was found in the Epstein files and the Devils' owner had a working relationship with Trump in the past.

I love the game and as a die-hard I watched every game my team played in.

But hockey is not for everyone.
