US embassy takeover marked ‘strategic choice’ between resistance, surrender: IRGC
Iran’s IRGC says the National Day of the Fight against Global Arrogance demonstrates the nation’s strategic choice between resistance and submission.
On this day in 1979, revolutionary students in the Islamic Republic of Iran stormed the US embassy in Tehran and captured the spies operating there.
The students would go on to piece together tens of thousands of pages of documents the spies tried to shred and they turned the building, now known as the "Den of Espionage" into a museum documenting US spy craft against Iran.
