Hope everybody is enjoying April Fool's Day! To celebrate, why not talk about manga in a new weekly general thread? Like always, feel free to ask questions, provide recommendations, or rant about manga things.
Like normal, please be careful with spoilers. I wrote a guide about spoilers in case you need a refresher on how to handle them (also linked in the sidebar).
Recently charged up my Likebook Ares again. The battery can barely hold charge tho, so now I'm eyeing that Boox 7.8" reader with a color eink screen...
Got caught up on Ruri Dragon, man it's good to have that series resume. Loved the new chapters with Ruri spending time with her mom, so often the parents are completely sidelined in stories like this when they could make for such appealing characters. Though I guess in this case one of them being a dragon makes them kinda impossible to ignore.

This is a complaint I have a lot when yet another series has the parents working far away and only showing up every couple months (if that). Like, how many 15 year olds do they just let live all on their own in Japan? It just feels like a cop out so that the author can completely ignore parental interactions.
Ruri's mom is awesome and I hope we continue to see more of her. That sports complex they were romping around in seemed like it had a bit of everything.
It's fine when like, one character is like that in the cast. But so often these stories that are typically about relationships just don't bother depicting one of the biggest most complex ones we all (usually) have.
