For a long time I felt that the world has gotten more and more accepting of transgender/transsexual people, but as of lately it feels like it's been moving in the opposite direction. Not just in America, but also in a lot of other countries. After fighting for so long and successfully being more accepted and having more right to transition, suddenly the world is turning back and removing those rights. It has gotten me feeling very pessimistic about the future.

What do you think has caused things to get worse?

TLDR: a trans “man” told my friend that I was trans even though Ive been stealth

I (19f) have been stealth at my workplace to my knowledge. I live in a red rural area with open transphobia being the norm, so I never questioned my veil. I’m leaving the US, so I was saying goodbye to a coworker/friend, he texted me “if you decide to comeback you can always hide in my apartment.” I said WTF does that mean? So he admitted that a coworker, who is a “ftm” told him “ L is trans too but the opposite way.” I don’t know if it clocked me or a coworker that I went to school with told them, but I am SEETHING.

Hello, I’m a trans man that’s 18 and was wondering if the name Daniel is clocky in any way? I live in the UK and am English/ German. I would like to go to university later this year feeling that I can be 100% stealth so having a name that doesn’t relate to the trans community would be ideal.

I’m ftm. I pass, I’ve not had bottom surgery, I would like meta but my dysphoria is pretty much gone. I don’t identify myself as transgender because trans means change and I’ve never changed my gender only the marker to identify me. Cis people will say “don’t call me cis I’m just a man/woman” so to that I say the same, do not call me trans. :)

Years ago, when Contrapoints was regularly making content that portrayed the trans community in a positive light, she was ruthlessly cancelled by many in her own community for not being pure enough.

I'm still VERY fresh and in quite a bit of pain but I just wanted to share something good that happened to me this week. Huge progress.
