We're regretfully going to be shutting down this Lemmy service in the next week. It's been fun, but I don't have time to keep up with it lately and want to focus my fediverse hosting/contributions a bit and stick to Matrix.
Today we looked into this further and it turns out we were not effected by this recent security bug. This was due to me having no time to upgrade the service to the vulnerable version! xD

Finally got around to configuring an email relay for this service. You can now connect an email address to your account for recovery purposes.
Note that there's actually no official "other way" of resetting your password, if you don't have an email on your account we unfortunately can't reset it for you due to technical limitations.

Anyone is welcome to run in this election, whether you have a perthchat acct or not, which is happening is mostly happening in the matrix/discord chat (perthchat.org) but also anywhere on lemmy.perthchat.org. Run with whatever classroom platform, real or fake.
@room Hi guys! We've created a new #chatgpt:perthchat.org room for all off-topic discussion with ChatGPT. It's also available on our public Discord.
We understand it's a bit annoying to be shuffled around from room to room. But our #offtopic:perthchat.org room we'd like to see reserved more for memes and shitposting, and it's currently being flooded with ChatGPT conversations. :) We appreciate your cooperation.

afaik; It's just a hobbie news branch, so there is no fame or fortune involved, so it's literally just for fun. The website doesn't have ads either so it's there is 0 profit potential.
It's time to celebrate!
Thanks to a generous benefactor, we now have the means to make the service go public again. We have an excess of bandwidth and storage that should be enough for a few years.
Registration is now open again but requires an email address. The old token
Today we're launching the Perthchat Lemmy instance, an exciting expansion of our service. Lemmy allows you to host your own link aggregator / discussion board, similar to Reddit.
