A message by President Russell M. Nelson.
Dear brothers, sisters, and friends, how grateful I am that we can watch, listen to, or attend general conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this weekend. I know that the General Authorities and General Officers of the Church who will speak to us have prepared thoughtfully to teach us what the Lord would have them teach. I encourage you to view each session, prepared to make note of the spiritual impressions you receive.
He also addresses the advanced age of many of the general leaders of the Church and asks for patience when they require accommodations in order to present their talks this weekend.

An AP story claimed The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints tried to cover up a 2015 abuse case of a child by her father. The church strongly denied the allegation.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we condemn, in the strongest terms, offending (harming) or abusing children. Abuse is not just a social malady and a criminal act; it is absolutely forbidden by the commandments of God.
Considering the recent Associated Press report regarding a former bishop who molested his daughter, I thought I'd share the Church's procedures around handling abuse.
The Church has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to abuse. This means that if we learn of abuse, we cooperate with civil authorities to report and investigate the abuse.

I have removed the option to reduce articles in this magazine. Too many people have randomly reduced content without commenting on why they thought it was poor quality, and cursory investigation suggested they did so because they disapprove of the Church. I recognize their right to their beliefs, but in order to make this a useful place for faithful and good-faith discussion, mitigation was necessary.
Perhaps if we get more subscribers in the future I will reintroduce reduces. We'll see what happens.
