Is it possible to self host a jitsi meet instance were only admins can create rooms?
Is it possible to self host a jitsi meet instance were only the admin can start a room. This way anyone can join the room the admin created but others cannot create a room and use the service for their own purposes.
Is it also possible for the admin to create several accounts on a self hosted instance but nobody can register and create their own accounts, and have any of these accounts be able to create rooms whenever and only those with an account can create a room on the instance. This way the admin can create accounts for their friends and family but nobody can signup to the instance and only those with an account can create a room. Anyone can join a room which does not require an account.

Jitsi Meet is known for easy to use voice and video calls by sharing a link to your receipts. On desktop, no app is needed to use Jitsi Meet as it works in the browser. On mobile it does require an app which even degoogled Android users can get from the official F-Droid repository.
However as of August 24, 2023, the official Jitsi Meet instance (meet.jit.si) will no longer allow anonymous creation of rooms, and will require the use of an account. This is unfortunate, however anyone can self host their own Jitsi Meet instance or even use a different instance thanks to Jitsi Meet being FOSS!
Here are a list of known instances that do not require the use of an account.
