1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of “discuss” rarely comply with this rule.
2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.
3. Avoid repetitive topics.
4. This isn't an advice forum
Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

Dullsters @dullsters.net Higgs boson @dubvee.org Our neighbor across the way was spreading grass seed this morning.
I guess it's officially time to recommence the yearly grind of yard maintenance. We didnt even get to enjoy a respite, with all the snow we had.

Had to grab (junk) food for my study breaks the last few days but managed to prep something today.
I watched a professional wrestling ring get constructed today.
Not at all what I expected. It's just a big metal frame covered with wood planks, mats, and canvas.
Tried out my new soldering iron tonight.
Worked on a friend's AC power adapter, the cord had gotten cut. Just a simple two-wire cord, nothing too complicated.
Didn't do a perfect job with the heat shrink tubing, but still made good connections and it'll be safe to use.
Wish I had upgraded my soldering iron sooner. The old one didn't heat nearly as evenly as this one.
Testing Out Shoe Insoles
Went to a running shoe store and they got me measured up and fitted. Bought some insoles since they said it could help with my plantar fasciitis.
I guess I feel less pain at the end of the day. I hope it will be better once I get new shoes.
Today I learned that Večer is evening in Bosnian
Now I know evening and morning: Jutro
I failed at getting a paper towel
Reached for a paper towel and left two thumb sized tears in the towel.
I bought a new pillow
I’ve used it for a week so far, and I’m still not sure if it feels better than the old one.
I enjoyed the automatic paper towel dispenser
It's neat, that I could take one piece without wetting the others.
Today I moved a box spring out of the upstairs artic and into the basement
Because it was taking up too much room. I put it off for awhile.
May have fixed the dishwasher with a garage washer
Noticed the lower arm of the dishwasher was in the same spot several washes in a row, so I got suspicious of the gap between that top nut and the arm. It looked like a lot of water could slip past. I found a small washer that fit almost perfectly in a junk box in the garage and now it seems to be working better.
I put the trash out last night.
They usually come in the afternoon, but I like to put it out the night before so I don't forget. One house has their recycling out, but I'm pretty sure that's next week.
Not much to do today. Thinking of taking a nap
I often feel tired and the sleepy around 2-4 pm and I’ll take a nap. They’re usually an hour or two long.
I ate leftovers for lunch
I thought the food would spoil soon, so I finished the rest today.
One avocado guacamole recipe
My avocado recipe is 1 avocado squished up with a fork, salt, lemon juice, Mexican taco seasoning
Worked a lot in the wood shop and had a hot meal
Bit of a marathon session today in the wood shop finishing a computer stand I'm building for my father. Did most of the construction of a drawer box. Had to do some tuning on my dovetail jig, it's not as definite as I'd like it to be, but the drawer box turned out okay.
Worked up some fatigue, my cat Izzy helped me take a nap on the couch. If you don't have an air purrifier, I highly recommend one.
Woke up hungry, made a stir fry. Still missing a tooth so a stir fry is a great way to get an actual hot nutritious meal in me. Thoroughly enjoyed it, too.
On my third full room renovation in 2 months
My second son will be here in less than a month. So I've spent the past 2 months doing some major renovations in the nursery, the kitchen and now our master bedroom.
The nursery was a lot but easy enough, I built out a closet since there wasn't one, reframed and put in new windows (the ones ones must've been a thousand years old by my guess) and laid new floor and trim all around.
The kitchen sucked, total gut and remodel, new drywall all around including the ceiling, managed to keep the counters and cabinets, they're not my favorite but they work and saved us a nice penny, fixed a leak I found under the sink. The ceiling was awful, I'm so happy it's done but my back is still yelling at me.
Now I'm on to the master bedroom, I'm extending the closet opening. The closet itself is 8x2 but the opening is a foot and half for some reason. Putting in new windows, replacing the subloor since most of it is falling apart and rotted (has been for a while), laying new floors and patching up som
