Hello dear fellow human beings!
Let me clarify a few things.
We are one, all of us, all stardust, right from the belly of an exploding star, right to our shared evolution, history, & current technological & societal progress. All humanity and all life is one and connected, and so are all of our problems.
Poverty, hunger, homelessness, climate change, fascism, war, and even the global epidemic of loneliness & depression aren’t distinct disconnected problems. They are a singular globally connected problem. And it requires a singular globally connected solution.
All of these are problems of a skewed economy, aka wealth inequality. Those who don't have enough face poverty, hunger, homelessness, and a lifetime of financial insecurity. Those who have plenty, want even more, which leads to them dividing the masses by propaganda, eventually leading to fascism & war. Our collective mismanaged consumption is pushing us al

While it’s true many people are wrapped up in a consumer-corporate lifestyle and think trying to change the world is a naïve or impossible task not worth even trying, many other people are more actively compassionate and are giving a lot of time and effort to try and make this world a better place. Some of those engaged in this productive work, like The School of Living, have a better vision than others on how to achieve the goal of a healthier and more just society; from its founder Ralph Borsodi’s book Flight From the City, along with the later Decentralism by Mildred J. Loomis, to current vegan homesteading projects like Ahimsa Village, I find the ideas and praxis of philosophy toward achieving a sustainable society to be very on-target. Unfortunately many others do not yet see how crucial it is for people to be connected to the Earth in a more direct, natural and free way in order for there to be global social-justice, and in order to restore our
"Animal Liberation and Social Revolution" by Brian A. Dominick
Brian A. Dominick Animal Liberation and Social Revolution a vegan perspective on anarchism or an anarchist perspective on veganism, with a preface by Joseph...
To embrace veganism and forgo the consumption and utilization of animal products is not an end, but a beginning; a new start affording the practitioner an opportunity to see everyday realities in a different light.
However, to speak of the suffering of non-human animals and the benefits of a vegan lifestyle is often a disheartening situation to the vegan, for typically the first reaction of her audience is to disagree. Opponents of veganism say that the way vegans view human-animal relationships (i.e. radically) is wrong, and that, looming on the horizon, is a severe cost for such blatant societal insubordination. Ultimately, they prophesize, the error of veganism will become obvious and, eventually, the idea thrown away.
In a strange way, however, veganisms’s critics are correct.
Not until one realizes what makes veganism “unreasonable,” will the individual realize the true reasoning behind what it means to be vegan. Not until one questions what it is that depicts ve

An anarchist guide to Taxation
“Tax the rich” is an all too common refrain on the left which, thanks to left unity, has even been echoed by many self-proclaimed anarchists. “Taxation is theft” on the other hand is a slogan many anarchists are hesitant to repeat due to its association with right-libertarians despite it being far m...
“Tax the rich” is an all too common refrain on the left which, thanks to left unity, has even been echoed by many self-proclaimed anarchists. “Taxation is theft” on the other hand is a slogan many anarchists are hesitant to repeat due to its association with right-libertarians despite it being far more consistent with anarchist ideals. When taxation is the main funding source for the military police state with only crumbs going towards an extremely inadequate welfare plantation system, why would anarchists want any more funding to go towards that no matter who’s fronting the bill?
No Gods, No Masters - A History of Anarchism

Bash Back 2023 International Convergence Sept 8-11 Chicago
In 2008, queer anarchists gathered in Chicago to plot a disruption of the electoral spectacle and cohere a network out of emergent youth crews in multiple cities. Fifteen years later, the proposals put forward then — criminality, autonomous self-defense, riots, and orgies — are needed more than ever. The intervening years have been marked by intensification — of crisis, alienation, loss, and struggle. The right wing no longer hides behind euphemisms: they want to exterminate trans and queer people. The left offers only false solutions: vote, donate, assimilate. A decade of representation, symbolic legal victories, social media activism, and mass-market saturation has left us worse off by all metrics. Our fairweather friends won’t save us from the consequences of their strategy of empty visibility. The inescapable conclusion is that we must come together to protect ourselves.
History confirms the queer legacy of building connection in a world that hates us, the legacy of riotous joy—th
How do anarchists do elections within an anarchist community?
I need like a little guide. Not a 20 page document, Ideally I have a proposal within a day or 2.
For irl activism.
Right now the left thing I'm in runs fraudulent elections within itself. Only ppl present can vote, no voter anonymity etc.
beehaw.org/c/socialism is a place where socialists, communists and anarchists can have a discussion

Non-socialists are welcome to come to learn, though it’s hard to get to in-depth discussions if the community is constantly fighting over the basics. We ask that non-socialists please be respectful and try not to turn this into a “left vs right” debate forum by asking leading questions or by trying to draw others into a fight.
Has anyone else noticed their irl mutual aid groups are just unilateral donations? Rather than "mutual".
Maybe my city's irl groups are just bad at the mutual part.
The fundamental tenet of anarchism is the resistance to an Archos, Greek for “master.” To advocate for anarchism is to position oneself in opposition to a master, i.e., to claim the fundamental right of self-determination, autonomy, and freedom from a centralized system of (especially coercive) cont...
extra topical for these recent days!
Do you know of any anarchistic material related to a bartering economy?
Trying to read/watch/etc a little on it to try to establish a vague food swap with friends. Specifically no cash.
Nobody is rich enough to engage in unilateral mutual aid/donations.
Planting crab apple trees in abandon lots?
ppl would eat crab apples from trees. In retrospect, a lot of urban soil is excessively high in lead. But it's maybe possible to just plant some apple trees and they'll eventually provide some food security.
Also would make those empty lots into more park like structures
Website listing all Empty Homes for squatting and other activism
I am about to create a Website Listing all empty homes, In Australia 11% of homes are empty , a four bedroom brick veneer opposite where I live in Queensland, has been empty for 16 years the owner lives in Victoria the lawn gets mowed every two months, this would be a good place to squat, it will not be easy as most of our politicians collect rent. and they will pass legislation to ban listing empty homes. the Website should make the owners of the properties either sell or rent out , with so many houses on the market prices would drop . It would be great to get thousands of addresses, this should happen all over the World , WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS,

Why do most anarchistic transactions (under the table cash) involve no receipts, paper trails or contracts? I'm taking sums of less than 100$
Once did a job, was supposed to get paid 20$, but was paid 10$, when we were discussing the difference in expectations didn't have proof and they thought they said 20$. Since then I always write and get a signature in case of problems
Congratulations /c/anarchism, we are deemed lemmyml's fascist sub of the day!
This is the highest honor lemmyml can bestow upon us.
I did not link back to OP and changed OPs name bc we should not aggressive engage with OP
How can an anarchist community be moderated by someone spreading right-wing propaganda?
@transformerfan69
I’m referring to @altair222@beehaw.org sharing articles like Iran schoolgirls poisoned as “some people” seek to stop education for girls, Iranian official says. The article exaggerates a few isolated incidents to paint a grim picture of every schoolgirl’s life in Iran. I already know the west is going to give the worst possible impression about the news from Iran, so why would you share it? Do you want everyone to see the country from the lenses of the west? Is that what anarchism is about, division and fear-mongering?
Allowing this person and whoever modded him to remain as mod on any community only serves to reduce the credibility and integrity of the instance as a whole.
Edit: nevermind, I hadn’t noticed the community is from
