  • Just gotta convince that FEMA tRump appointee that hurricanes exist. Then tRump will try to direct its path with a Sharpee marker. When that fails, he'll suggest we nuke the hurricane. That's when we dance!

  • Without spoilers, how close are the books to the show? I am listening to the first book now after binge watching the show. I'm on season 5, but season 4 with the planet stuff was kind of boring and hard to get through.

  • Tell that to Israel who showed this wouldn't diminish their global support!

  • Don't need to write a book on deals to recognize a good investment when you see it. Renewables, even without govt. incentives, are a smart investment!

  • Who doesn't love donuts, though?

  • I fucking hate organized religion. I've hated it since first reading the history of its atrocities . I hate it even more now.

  • If this was about the military and leadership, these sort of things would be limited and sparse. Just like Palestine, this is going to end up being another genocide. Kill the kids, kill the women, kill their means of family planning and any infrastructure that allows the propagation of people the US and Israel consider undesirable. It's so fucked. When I was in, the military attempted to avoid collateral damage and unintentional casualties to a) prevent non-combatants/civilians from radicalizing against us and b) to preserve life. They allowed relief aid to supply the local population with the means to survive.

These two nations are using war for its cruelty. That's why tRump and his regime can't provide any solid reasoning for the attack. When the point is to distract and cause maximum harm and cruelty, you don't really need any other excuse for it. Anything else they say is just a lie.

  • Unfortunately, it's the world forced upon all of us and not a hard thing to think about when the last thing you saw, before the shower, was about this incredibly reckless genAI proposal. Trust me, I'd rather think about puppies or kittens.

  • Because I thought about it while showering after reading about how AI is going to be used in military application, knowing full well it is not even correctly identifying dangerous outcomes with non-military applications. Why do you ask?

  • Sorry, I don't speak German (I think that was German).

  • Showerthoughts @lemmy.world

The Nuremberg Trials 2.0 will see 'generative AI' used as an excuse in the same way some tried 'just following orders' as an excuse after WWII

  • It's worse than you think. GenAI is sound when the outcome of a prompt or task is expected. Look up how a GenAI model tried to call the FBI.

  • Looks like a mess and I have no idea what happened to make it!

  • We'll kick a keg out from under him instead of a chair!

  • Nah, Musk would name it Operation X or something else equally silly or encode-breaking to be edgy!

  • And color!

  • Never had food from there, never will. Fuck Jesus Chicken.

  • We can call it Operation Starfish!

  • ...in a world where unemployment means you barely get the basic necessities of life...

Ssshhhiiiiiiiiiiii, even with employment you can't pay for basic necessities. Shit's so fucked!

  • Anything to help out our fellow laborers. What goes around will eventually come around for those of us who stick together! Sooner or later I hope we can build a solid coalition of laborers to push back against the robber-Barron's (spelling?) destroying our futures' for profit.

Holy shit these are some good edibles! I rest my case, your honor.
