  • These days that wouldn't fly (or at least it shouldn't fly)

  • The Confederate constitution mentions slavery everywhere

Its almost like they wanted to ensure slavery continued to last

  • It makes sense for a number of reasons. You could be being detained or your device could be sitting in lost and found.

  • It is a little weird when you meet an old friend and they are now trans

I respect but it was a culture shock

  • When offer to go to lunch with someone you haven't seen in 15 years and they respond with as long as its not within 100ft of a school

  • "There is no evidence that the civil war was about slavery"

looks at the speech by Davis talking about how it was all about slavery plus hundreds of other documents

TIL The "lost cause of the Confederacy" is an actual myth used to promote racism and racist ideals

  • I hate when that happens

  • Water diving?

Anyway I don't really see Wifi as much of a privacy risk. There are way more concerning things than Wifi. For Wifi to be attacked you need very specific conditions one of those being close proximity.

In the past you could've used Wifi for physical tracking when people visited a place but now MAC address randomization is a thing and modern devices do not broadcast discover frames for Wifi.

  • My general understanding of all of this is that the Forgejo ecosystem is young and needs time to mature. I'll probably just stick with Woodpecker for now but thanks for the explanation.

  • You can't run those locally though so that doesn't natter much

  • This is real

  • I think he would need to really mess up for that to happen

  • This is real

  • I think the idea is that the president would be impeached but we've gotten so political that no politician would dare go against the party.

  • This is real

  • Well Trump sued news organizations to censor them. I don't see why this can't be a two way street.

  • This is real

    A Pi-Based LiDAR Scanner | Hackaday

Although there are plenty of methods for effectively imaging a 3D space, LiDAR is widely regarded as one of the most effective methods. These systems use a rapid succession of laser pulses over a w…

What CI/CD tools are you guys using? I have Forgejo but I need a simple way of running automation.

My current picks are Woodpecker CI and Forgejo runners. Anything else that's lightweight and easy to manage?

Am I the only one interested in Fedora based containers?

I'm been listening to the Fedora podcast and it seems like the OCI images are now getting some serious attention.

Anyone using the Fedora base image to make custom containers to deploy Nextcloud, Caddy and other services? My thought is that Fedora focuses on security so in theory software packaged with it will be secure and properly configured by default. Having Fedora in the middle will also theoretically protect against hostile changes upstream. The downside is that the image is a little big but I think it is manageable.

    Anyone else use Fedora?

    Thoughts on AlmaLinux bootc images?

    almalinux.org Bringing bootc to AlmaLinux

bootc is a new deployment method that powers Image mode for RHEL and HeliumOS, a new Linux distribution. We are excited to announce that AlmaLinux now offers bootc images for Intel/AMD(x86_64) and ARM64(AArch4). How did this start? My goal as developer of HeliumOS is to produce a Linux-based desktop...

Old post but I think it is still relevant. Fedora also supports this but Fedora doesn't have a LTS support window

    Family is so weird

Once side of my family is Neurotypical for the most part and the other is absolutely crazy with everything from Autism, ADHD and bipolar.

Guess who is more fun to hang around. We always have the craziest get togethers with total dysfunction and chaos.
