This is my main and active account at the moment. Other inactive accounts: pir8t0x@sh.itjust.works , pir8t0x@ani.social

I'm new to Lemmy and therefore exploring different instances, you could say. I myself am a pirate and I do it for watching purposes (this much is pretty obvious from my username). I'm also an otaku and somewhat of a privacy consious user.

  • If it happens in case of Fediverse, It will only happen in instances based or hosted in countries where there's age verification. But censorship on entirety of Lemmy or Mastodon would be very hard.

  • Spoiler: Not a single brand received Mozilla’s Best Of designation, though researchers identified Renault as the least problematic. The European brand must comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a stringent law governing the way in which personal data is used, processed, and stored.

  • Qurbani is actually meant to be a sacrifice in the first place. We're sacrificing something close to us for Allah. But Feeling compassion and kindness for animals is completely normal and okay. In your case, it's a bit too much for you so you're free to appoint someone else (a butcher or trusted individual) to perform the slaughter on your behalf.

In case of veganism, Veganism is generally considered halal in Islam, provided the individual does not hold the belief that consuming animal products is inherently forbidden (haram) or that abstaining from them is a religious act of worship.

And Allah knows best. I would suggest to ask advice from a good Sheikh or a very knowledgeable and religious Muslim

  • Give the hamster some privacy, dude

  • Exactly

  • Salam!

  • I just came to visit this community too but seems like it's pretty much dead

  • There's no pressure on you to initiate a Salam. You can do it if wished, No problem if you don't do it. It's really your choice, do as you want.

  • You will be getting stuff like that in future, I predict. Oh, and you will also be getting ads in your brain

  • Custom ROM is certainly the best choice.

  • As far as I know, Sentry is not harmful. If you wanna get rid of Mozilla Telemetry, use Brave (chromium) or IronFox (Firefox fork) instead of Firefox or you could also manually turn the telemetry off in Firefox settings. Get rid of the apps with Google trackers. And if you can't get rid of the apps with the Google trackers, last resort is to use those apps in a work profile using Island, Shelter etc. I personally don't like and use Rethink DNS because it reduces my internet speed a lot. I would rather suggest NextDNS and this NextDNS setup guide. In the case of ACRA, I'm less familiar with it, so I looked it up and apparently, ACRA itself is not inherently invasive, but its use in apps without proper transparency or user consent can lead to privacy-invasive behavior.

And enlighten me on what app you're using to see those trackers. As for me, I use Warden

  • Technically, Manga and manhwa ARE Books. So, if I round it up, I read books on pirating sites.

  • I like this kind of editing better than the normal type. Feels more fair

  • They should revive the "Family Computer" thing in families once again. Way better than handing them their own devices

  • Removed

    Men are dumb.

  • I'm GenZ but the millennial has a point

  • Best solution IMO: Don't let them use social media. If they really need to communicate, just buy them a SIM and or let them use your phone and SIM to contact them directly.

And if you must let them use social media, set up parental controls on your router. I suggest NextDNS for this. And basically, monitor everything your child watches or interacts and engages with. If they're using YouTube, check their accounts to see what content they're consuming.

  • It's okay now.

  • So true, I have wondered this too
