  • Google has too much power and control. Even if I don’t have power and control of all my data, someone else having that power instead of Google is still preferable to leaving it all in their hands.

Break it up into many small pieces that do not like eachother.

  • Ah yes, that is calming. Because this regime has a reputation of restraint.

  • The Internet archive is important and Trump now has control over it.

There. I simplified it for you.

  • Isn’t it strange how they keep collecting taxes but kill all the things that tax money was supposed to go into?

  • You know the funniest part about all this? They are betting on a financial promise made by Donald Trump. The man has a long established reputation for not paying his debts.

They are being awful people, in public, placing themselves in great danger if they are ever identified, for money they likely will never get.

  • Put an airtag on the collar. Done.

  • Strange. Shitting on your bosses desk is still free. Hmm. Interesting loophole.

  • Yes however they are literally move all their infrastructure to the UK so they won’t be an option soon.

Windscribe is a thin too, but since they are Canadian and Canada is making stupid political deals with the US lately, it can’t be relied on either.

  • I2p and the return of webrings. Done.

  • Part of that is allowing labels to be so powerful. Someone doesn’t have to watch kiddie porn or molest children to be branded a pedophile, but when you have that label for someone, it’s implied that’s what they did. We saw this same shit during the Bush years with the “terrorism” label. We’re actually seeing it again with Luigi Mangione and people protesting at Tesla dealerships. People don’t care about reality if there’s simple branding that wipes critical thinking away.

  • VPNs aren’t going to be a practical solution going forward. You are creating dependancies that governments can target, spying on traffic and enforcing censorship for these relays is something any country can and likely will implement at some point. The clearnet is dying because the evangelicals are killing it.

  • Oh yea, copyparty could do that. I might just do that too. My issue is more how do I grant them access to my network to get the thing tough? I currently use wireguard profiles and lock down where they can reach with rules and shit on a firewalla on a per account basis but that’s really complex and inelegant. It works and would working copypasta, but I kind of wish there was a simple webUI where I could define what a WireGuard user should be able to reach on my network with simple checkboxes by rules I have created over time. Probably wouldn’t tie into firewalla nicely though it could be more likely with OPNsense.

Hmm. Surely someone must have thought of that already. It would make adopting things like copypasta much simpler and less risky.

  • You made this on your phone on the bus ride to and from work.

I cleaned the cat box yesterday and considered that an accomplishment.

    Fuck.

  • This is a bad idea. You would just be creating another layer of gerrymandering.

  • Oh definitely, but grindr has been terrible for a long time and has absolutely no interest in improving. Sniffies has a few ads but they aren’t invasive, just obnoxious. Grindr has so many ads you literally cannot use the thing.

  • It’s a change Google recently announced. Going forward, you can turn off some of your interactions with Gemini but it will continue running the background anyway, collecting data and shit, and there’s nothing you can do about it.

  • Sniffies. It’s a web app you don’t even need to install but you can pin it to your homescreen to behave like an app too.

  • I was actually looking at moving to a pixel fold but the Gemini shit that I can’t turn off turned me away. The Samsung fold7 is incredibly tempting too, but again, I refuse to use their adware riddled shit.

  • Who said anything about banks? Republicans are all in on crypto. let’s play this game.
