  • Apply that analysis to the mustard argument in the post. It’s ridiculous. Nobody is using food stamps to buy a Porsche. If their life is made a little better because an extra bit of my tax dollars went into fancy mustard I’d consider that nothing short of a bargain.

That argument is literally gatekeeping fucking mustard. If you can’t spring for the grey poupon then being that much stingier with your taxes is not going to be enough to solve your problem anyways. You just want others to suffer because you suffer, which harkens back to my original point that is mental illness.

  • Im leaning into it because arch linux on arm stuff is a joke compared to the x86 mainstream stuff. Fedora treats ARM as an equal.

  • Dude I just discovered fedoras dnf rollback feature and I about shit myself.

  • Selinux makes me homicidal and fedora always seems to be choking on….something. But it’s the most updated stable thing I can find.

The AUR is irresponsible. Put a wili entry showing how to did something. Don’t just write a script and post it that you KNOW nobody is actually going to comb over.

  • -glares in bold font-

  • I fall pretty squarely into the script kiddie category compared to a lot of people on here and arch wikis has been an incredibly valuable resource.

“I want to do X like Y. Surely someone much of done this by now.” Arch wiki: “funny you should mention that. Here is free documentation that is pretty up to date, has lots of detail and examples, but don’t drown you.”

Seriously, I look at red hat and debian documentation and little ADHD brain hamster just strokes the fuck out on his wheel. Arch wiki is a comfortable ride. It’s just…digestible if that makes any sense.

  • I love that this meme will never die.

  • Putting your license plate stickers all over the plate rather than where it’s supposed to go should get your vehicle impounded. No one thinks you are clever for making your license plate look like it has a taskbar, Kevin.

It annoys the hell out of me and for the love of god I have never been able to understand why that thing in particular bothers me so much.

  • No that’s been done to death. I think they’ll move on to bombing the city or poisoning the water or some other horrible thing.

  • Yes

  • Arch has glorious documentation. That is literally the only thing that blows me away about it.

  • I’m more likely to find humans on grindr than Reddit at this point.

  • Im boxing with fedora at the moment myself. I hate that arch was easier.

  • Admittedly I hadn’t looked too deeply into it. My sister was talking to me about it and she’s generally more level-headed than I am. Under normal circumstances I’d dismiss it as rumor but looking around my country lately, it’s actually quite possible.

That’s why I said it was plausible. I’m not certain, but I fear it’s likely true.

  • Nope. The US doesn’t learn. It markets.

  • Agreed but if they are going to run around playing nazi games, I’m gonna make them work for it.

Of course, we are already at the point where they lie and just make shit up anyway so it’s mostly an intellectual exercise at this point.

  • They’ve been chipping away at Tor browser for a while now. It’s well known that it can be fingerprinted now. I think it was like last year or something where they made a change they lied about and got caught. Eventually enough people had it that someone finally tested the damn thing and demonstrated the flaw. The tor browser people said too bad we’re not changing it. It was something that was intentionally introduced to enable fingerprinting on tor. The network itself seems very good but tor browser itself, not so much

I’m not saying to stop using tor, but you really should diversify your shit. Look into i2p, set up a reticulum node, get multiple options ready. The great danger of tor is that damn near everybody involved in darknet stuff is using it, which means it’s an incredibly appealing target for the feds who have demonstrated they are not to be trusted

  • Supposedly that’s already happening. Many of the people that were sent to alligator Alcatraz were never seen again. They weren’t traceable. And yet neighboring countries are reportedly finding bodies washing up on their shores. The running theory is that the US has been flying them out into the ocean, dropping them in there to drown to disappear them. It’s horribly evil, and yet it’s plausible.

We’re almost to the end of the end of the poem. I fully expect to hear “and then they came for me“ any day now

  • Oh yes, the classic “the poor people are secretly happy and that bothers me” argument. It’s like a cat call for stupid people. The whole point of it is to say “you’re not allowed to have anything remotely nice because I consider myself better than you.”

It’s mental illness made into a political platform.

  • Guys calm the fuck down. The point of this joke is not that you’ll be bulletproof a few in sort of a few commas and passwords every now and then. The point is that a lot of these guys use terrible scripts that do not parse data correctly and they dump all of this shit into large CSV files. One or two people put an errand, in there that it doesn’t expect and it fucks the whole thing sideways for the entire set everything after the asshole with the comma password gets fucked. People that know what they’re doing will be just fine with it, but scammers generally don’t know what the fuck they’re doing and they pass this data along over and over and over again it change his hands frequently. So there’s more chances for it to get fucked along the way.
