  • So if for any chance you can't use JS (outdated browser, outdated system, text-based browser, JS disabled by an admin, JS won't load, assistive technology) then... it's your fault?

  • I want to know what it is that specific reason you need PS?

  • They bite me like 10 times around my knees and 2 times on my fingers the other day (wednesday last week). I was carrying long pants. I still don't know how they did that. It still itches.

I'm type O. My mother, who was next to me, is type A. She wasn't bitten even once.

  • 1000% team Calvin on this. I hate Rosalyn too.

  • I have always heard not to use antivirus on Linux

I've never heard anything like that, and if it's true it's really bad advice, to be honest. It's not that you shouldn't use an antivirus on Linux, but an extra of security is not bad because shit happens and with its popularity increasing Linux can face security challenges in the future.

Still if you know what you're doing you can do just fine without an antivirus.

  • I suspect there's something big going on that won't make it as easy as you're thinking. I'd bet it's the same reason they haven't been able to bring one-wallpaper-per-virtual-desktop back since KDE4. They focused on Activities and worked really hard on that trying to make it a thing but it seems most people didn't really cared about it, and almost forgot about virtual workspaces in the process

  • I know all of that, like I have submitted patches and filed bugs against both gtkfilechooser and kde's file chooser, and all of that you mention stil doesn't take out that the purpose of the save dialog is to save files instead of listing them and OP's request is really odd and can backfire in the future - you'd still want to save HTMLs with their file extension, even in Linux, for a reason.

  • That is definitely up to librewolf as it intends to, ahem, save a document as HTML. Librewolf is setting that somehow, most possibly it's hardcoded so I doubt there is a way to change that in its settings or whatever.

Besides I don't think the purpose of the save dialog is to list files as an actual filemanager would.

  • Damn physic laws removing the fun from physics

  • I think it's better for Linux to grow its base organically and the best advertisement for it is its own quality. But maybe that's just me.

  • I've never used it but since it's basically a kwin script I'd bet you can change them in system settings, like in system settings -> keyboard -> keyboard shortcuts -> Window management (or however it is named in english) -> look up for krohnite

E: Or maybe, just maybe, in its entry in the Kwin scripts section - System settings -> Window management (or however it is named in english) -> Kwin scripts -> Krohnite -> Click or tap the cog button -> maybe there should be something related to keyboard shortcuts

  • Yup, 1:20 seems like your average mainstream multimillionaire-backed dating app

  • The times I've tried to look into it their fanbase seemed a bit toxic, they are really keen in that you have to read the fucking manual and that every possible question possible about (Free|Open)BSD is already solved in it. And they hold a very weird grudge against Linux because it's more popular.

Probably FreeBSD devs are cool people and it seems this latest years they have been doing great amounts of work on making FreeBSD available and enjoyable for most people bringing the hot stuff, but on the OpenBSD side of things if Linus Freaking Torvalds tells Theo de Raadt is a "difficult person"...

  • When Python 3.something hit they did a massive overhaul on emerge's resolution algorythm so it helped a lot when resolving stuff - and now you almost never need to use revdep.rebuild or things like that, I frankly forgot when it was the last time I used it, probably it has been years. Plus now things like binaries for heavy packages, portage hooks and stuff like that makes things a lot easier for people coming in. I'm really not sure why people still bitch on it or why some people seem to need every package they install available right away... but at least for me it's been great all this years.

  • but then wait, CHROMEOS IS A GENTOO INSTALLER!

Do you mean all the tears of people bitching on Gentoo because it is allegedly difficult to install were in vain?

Though on a serious note, I unironically wanted Gentoo/BSD to keep existing so I could move to it. I like FreeBSD (but not its users) or DragonflyBSD but pkg/pkgsrc can't hold a candle to Portage in terms of letting you fine tune your install.

  • This is the actual only correct answer. Plan9 is unix but better and with an animal pet like Linux.

  • I could afford a pair of no-brand tpu tubes like a year ago for my road bike. Though I feel I can speed up a little quicker than before with butyl tubes, the extra space in the case is great and they loss air much more slowly than butyl's. Haven't had any flat either so at least that's great, but can't tell if it's because the nature of the TPUs or that I've been really lucky.

Some other pair for my mtb is on its way, but change its tires to wider and grippier ones, so I won't be able to feel any difference there when speeding up.

The caveat is their price, though, they still cost 3x than butyls, at least around here.

  • Looking forward for the external monitor support. The fact they have got this far is amazing.

  • "Basic"? Is there going to be a paid/pro version or something?
